We took the chance of having this guitar for a couple of days to test it and this was one of the things we did with it. Great guitar. Thanks to Mr. Phil for his excellent drumming.

How do you keep the groove so tight?
@SoloDallas
@SoloDallas 2 жыл бұрын
NICE question - the only one I remember recently in thousands of comments; here's the deal: one has TO CONSTANTLY, every instant, every moment, feel the rhythm within themselves; dance to it, MOVE your body (literally, dance, "bop" to the rhythm). The 'faces' however disturbing to some (aware of this) ARE a necessity for the playing guitarist; they simply show the inner timing, inner sound manifesting itself on the outside, as well playing it on the instrument. It's a whole, completely surrounding feeling that has to encompass the whole body and mind. It IS a big effort, but it is necessary in order to play in a way that will give you - instantly and constantly - the true satisfaction that I KNOW you have been looking for. That satisfaction in fact can (in my humble opinion) ONLY be found in timing, more than ANYTHING other technique. A musician's best secret and most precious skill is nothing else but their sense (and skill - to be developed) of timing. Merry Christmas, Fil!

I am a cranky old Aussie dude who grew up with Bon Scott living around the corner. AC/DC were explosive before they became world famous and they only just played in local pubs. This is incredible and these guys are perfect. Trust me for an old Aussie to say this it means something. I still listen to them and I am covered in tattoos and ride a Harley and I am the grandfather you always feared. Rock on dude!

I’ve noticed every single cover of AC/DC on KZbin never sounds like what they do live or on the records. I swear it’s a deep secret when it comes to tones with Malcolm and Angus. RIP Malcolm Young! Greatest rhythm guitarist of all time
@SoloDallas
@SoloDallas 6 жыл бұрын
Scotty one of the reasons why 'Classic AC/DC' was so good (still is in fact, because it's a *classic*) was their attention to perfection: their recording style and technique added to their talent is still unmatched. NO cover band has the talent nor knowledge (and commitment!) to get anywhere close, now or in the future. The amount of time and (once again) knowledge relative to such process is just unreplicable today, with few to no exceptions.
@gwhiz3708

Maybe they could nail that sound if they focused more on the playing and forget about trying to act like Angus. The rythym player was working his ass off trying to move his mouth like Angus does when he’s playing. I don’t know why people think they have to act like Angus when playing his music. That’s just the way Angus reacts while playing. It’s not required to play AC DC songs😎

@WiesnheimerBuckelfreund 3 жыл бұрын
@@gwhiz3708 Are you playing Guitar? I do for about 30 years. And nearly every good Guitarist i've played with did some stupid looking moves and things with his eyes and his mouth. Including me. I didn't know that until i saw myself on video and was really suprised and a little bit scared 😅 It is like you re on a trip when you re grooving and moving right. This is not an Angus thing. And for the 2 guys in the video: perfect performance! Really really nice! ACDC brought me to music when i was a child. It is simple an clean. Everybody can learn the notes. But only a few hit the groove right, hit the tone right....sorry for the poor grammar, german english.....rock on

@@WiesnheimerBuckelfreund I looked up other videos of the lead guitarist and he only “reacted” that way on ac dc songs so that proves it’s a put on. I couldn’t find any other video’s of the rhythm player but I bet the same is true. I’m not trying to be down on those guys so I done my research first to prove my point. I’ve done this with other guitarist also and found the same to be true. Rock on, Stephanie 🤟

Thanks, really appreciate the comment. We'll probably go with an early to mid 70s Super Bass for the next recording as it's slightly cleaner, and perhaps think about a different speaker choice. Again, that's to add to the clarity/tightness of his sound. The SD50 is a very versatile amp though... clean to dirty, it's all there. edit: I can't spell...

Fil, I love your enthusiasm and devotion to AC/DC. Your quest to understand their tone is truly wonderful. I am really happy for you when you uncovered the secret of the Schaeffer (spelling?) and then had the ultimate compliment of giving Ang one of your replicas. Congratulations! I will always be eternally jealous of your collections of SGs, Firebirds and Marshalls!!! Great version of Gone Shootin’. You capture the “roll” so well that Mal always said was the key ingredient to their sound. That replica “Beast” is amazing! Well done, boys!!!
