⏲TIMELINE⏲ [00:00] UNBOXING [02:11] FIRST LOOK AND INFOS [04:14] TRUSS ROD SETUP [06:27] DEMO I was looking to get a small acoustic guitar and i found that many people talking about this Jim Dandy guitar it's something like best seller, many people have good reviews other bad so i get one to see how it is, the guitar out of the box it was unplayable and needed some set up like adjusting the truss rod sanding the bridge and changing the strings, i understand that the company wants the guitar to sound big and warm but this small body guitar cant handle that heavy strings, this guitar sounds good for the small size is ideal for blues, lofi, pop if you mix it properly, in the video i show how to adjust the truss rod you can set up the guitar according to your personal preference and style, its a nice beautiful little parlor guitar for the price, Jim Dandy to the Rescue! 👉 Gretsch G9500 Jim Dandy Amazon: amzn.to/3fsmCYq Thomann: redir.love/thoprod/304146?partner_id=12605 How to Adjust the Action: kzbin.info/www/bejne/bHXTfYWcl9tspc0 ▶️ Tutorials / Demos / Other Stuffs: 🔧 My Gear: goo.gl/SjER7V 🎧 Listen my Music: smarturl.it/StabosMusic ★★★ Thanks for Watching! ★★★

I just got this guitar last week. It's SO unique sounding- almost like a ukelele and guitar combined. I'm planning on hot-rodding it with a bridge and pickup, but it's a fun player. If you get one the saddle and nut are cheap plastic garbage, but the rest of the guitar is really well built. Got a $9 bone nut and saddle off of Amazon and it improved the sound quite a bit.

Nice upgrade, yes overall it's good for the price and yes need some changes not very heavy strings the tunes are weak needs some changes and it's perfect little guitar

GREAT video! Really well done. I love the amber hue on the burst of that JD. Can I ask, is there some saturation on the video image or is that the true color? Stunning guitar either way and lovely playing. Bravo.

Thanks! Yes I put brightness because the picture was dark, the color is something between burgundy and maroon

felt like a kids toy to me, almost like it was plastic, but i will say it was super loud and actually fun.

Haha yes someone said they are made to sound like that in purpose to be acurate to give that cheap blues guitars, i figure that works better in lower tunings because the scale is small and the strings are tight

Brother do you have the same strumming for every song. That you’re trying to play off the cuff. Great guitar. Well, if you’re going to do a review of it, you might want to change up the strumming from song to song.😊😊

The truss rod is not for adjusting action . It’s done on the saddle
@StamatisStabos
@StamatisStabos 2 жыл бұрын
Yes right i forgot to mention that, i used a sandpaper on the saddle to lower the action and the truss rod just help the action and become more flat

My Luthier also planed the raised part of the bridge that the saddle sits in to get the action spot on! 👌

neat video - wasn't sure if you adjusted the truss rod or not? Was the action acceptable out of the box? thanks!

Thanks for watching, it was little to high for my taste and the strings 12 gauge where heavy and caused tension to the small body guitar

Why do people say this sounds like a toy guitar I’ve never in my life met a toy guitar that sounds like this toy guitars are cheap plastics with plastic strings and sound awful this one for the price sounds miles better than any toy guitar I’ve bought for my kids over the years

Because they expect it to sound like a Martin dreadnought.

Hi there! What is the name of that instrument to check the right height of the strings?
@StamatisStabos
@StamatisStabos 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Alessandro, it's a "string action gauge" ruler with that you can measure the string height, bridge saddle, pickups on electric etc... very useful

I would ask you what you think of this guitar, but obviously it has left you speeches. Do you still enjoy it?
@StamatisStabos
@StamatisStabos 2 жыл бұрын
Yes i like it, its very comfortable to play and small size, the only thing i dont like is that works better with lower tunings because of the small body size cant handle the tension well, except you put smaller gauge strings 9 maybe

@@StamatisStabos I had wondered about that. I have seen several people playing these with a capo. It is good that they have a truss rod. I am interested in a smaller guitar. I have a bad right shoulder and a dreadnought can be difficult at times. Cheers and thanks.

@@J_Trask When it comes to turning the truss rod bolt, just follow the old adage: righty-tighty (clockwise) and lefty-loosey (counter clockwise). That’s if you’re oriented so that you’re facing the truss rod bolt itself. Here’s what I mean: If your truss rod is inside the soundhole (like most acoustics), you’d be standing at the body-end of the guitar (where the strap button is) staring straight down the guitar toward the headstock. That’s where it’s righty-tighty and lefty-loosey.
