I love Gretsch’s and they are my favorite guitars, I eventually plan to have several of their models. At present I have a great 5435 tg pro jet but will be getting a hollow body for Christmas coming up. I also have a classic vibe tele and while I like it, the Gretsch just do it for me, especially aesthetically. I think a good player can make any decent guitar sound great. And with the variety of pedals and amps available today, ANY electric can accomplish any genre. Just my opinion.

Gretsch once again deservedly wins the beauty contest. For sound, I never realized how much I like the tele.

Good thing about the tele is it sounds amazing and it doubles as a sledge hammer, snow shovel…use it as a jack stand to hold your truck up…and it will still sound amazing! They are built like tanks!

Love both. I'll take Gretsch though. I'm more biased towards Gretsch than I am with a Tele.

I know good sir. I face the same impossible dilemma. Gretsch sounds chimey bright and gritty where the Tele roars in the mids. I can’t decide haha

I have a Gretsch and a Tele, When in the mood to play I always grab the Tele first even though it’s less forgiving.

THE GRETSCH BLACKTOP PICKUPS ARE GOOD, BUT THEY ARE LOW END, WILL NEVER MATCH THE TELE TWANG, BUT IT DEPENDS ON WHAT YOUR LOOKING FOR..GREAT VIDEO !

Great composition. Both are great guitars. But they have different strengths. For Hillsong music, the Gretch is better. For blues, the Tele. ....Your playing is fantastic. But you don't hear the nuances and picking dynamics the same on the Gretch. ....The Tele brings out not only the picking dynamics, but the pressure you're using in your playing - the digging in vs the backing off. ....Perhaps that's why every blues great, and expressive player - is a Fender Addict. Hendrix, Clapton, SRV, Beck ...just to name a few.

Yes sir you nailed it. I prefer my gretsch in the worship setting because it behaves itself well in a mix and fills it perfectly. The Tele keeps popping out to say “hey guys listen to me!” Lol that’s the best way I can put it.

The Gretsch wins in my opinion also it seems to take all the notes and blend them together on a professional even and mid tone.Like a Gibson or Dean.The tele is good but the notes are all out by them selves no harmony..
