-giggles- He's so shy. When he plays at large venues he stares out and doesn't make eye contact with the crowd and at smaller shows like this one, he closes his eyes. It's so adorable. But the boy has so much talent. I love him to death. c:

Sounds silly cos you probably might have done but if you haven't, check out The Phonebook. There are 2 versions, one at I think just a random live event between the hiatus and the start of his solo stuff, and apart from the chorus a completely different version for SXSW when he did it in 2010.

Yeah, what CV is calling "cryptic gibberish" on FAD is a non-literal style as old as art itself. A literal approach paints a picture -- great for certain ideas. Abstractions/metaphors build a house that the audience can analyze and augment with their perspective, allowing someone enjoys that interplay to have a relationship with the art that develops with contemplation. SRAR is very enjoyable, but easy to "get" & is truly lyrically brutal at times whereas FAD seemed more layered/graceful.

That's fair enough. I should say that I honestly like Folie a Deux a lot. As far as the new album, (who'd have thought that they'd be back after all this time!) I think the writing has become a little more refined, and I don't hate Pete quite so much anymore.

I love Patrick and think he's talented and all, but in this particular session the strumming sounds really muted. I'm no music critic but just putting my opinion out there.
@marcpatrick6337
@marcpatrick6337 8 жыл бұрын
i think that's intentional. the strumming is muted in certain parts of the song in order to create a contrast in volume when the chorus kicks in, where the chords are more full. plus, he normally uses a distortion pedal, which makes the guitar sound a bit fuller.
@lueyteledeluxe7457
@lueyteledeluxe7457 5 жыл бұрын
Intentional. Also filtertron pickups Have this warm, smooth thing going on. Jazzy. Very lo-fi. It's "that great gretsch sound!" And I for one, am casing Gretschs - maybe this one? - for that very, unique tone. I already have the more brash rock tones of Gibson and Fender... its time for something the other direction.

DAUGH. STUMP. Ovaries gone, thank you you glorious bastard. A for the Pete Vs. Patrick debate? The dudes are friends, they still are despite the fact Black Cards is more of a DJ and synth set up to Patrick's Orchestral solo project and compositions for other bands. They never were the same and never will be. Pete is doing what he loves and so is Patrick, and any true fan of both Patrick, Pete, and or the original FOB should respect that.
