Grey Flannel (the vintage) is absolutely awesome! The very unique floral fresh soapy drydown is great. Nothing cheap smelling about the vintage at all....in fact its quite to the contrary when compared to modern day fragrances. Maybe the recent formulations have been compromised. Rock Grey Flannel to work in a suit and it really works.

What a coincidence. I just blind bought this yesterday. Not a fan of the opening. Very earthy, herbal, slightly dirty. Another reviewer Fragrance Hunter said he thought it had a civet note. I really like the soapy drydown. One thing I can say for sure is I can't think of anything else that smells like it. I'd be interested in finding a vintage. I got my bottle at Ross. I saw 2 versions, one in a box and one in the flannel pouch. Mine is made in America. I wonder if they're different formulations.

to my nose, the opening smells like....a grey flannel shirt that has been in the closet for a long time. i can see why some people don't like it, but to me it smells very distinct and unique. after the opening, i mostly just smell soap which reminds me a lot of the soapiness you get in prada amber pour homme.

The opening is a little rough but the dry down is gorgeous.
