To answer why some parts are more saturated... The regrowth closest to your scalp gets more heat from your head during processing "bleach". And the hair on the front/top gets more exposure to the sun (sun bleaching). Also, take into account the porosity changes in your hair. any hair that's had more exposure to lightener (hair bleach) will be more porous (sucking up color better, but also losing color faster). kudos on the color theory knowledge!

before bleaching, you should add some coconut oil to your hair! keeps my hair protected

Love this smoky lavender color. I also refer it to the "Ice Witch" look haha. I'm hoping to get my hair like this soon but I recently had blue in my hair and its faded to a light green. Shall see how it goes. You are super adorable, by the way! Sort of remind me of Bjork in her younger years

You could use colorfix from sallys to help fade out that color ! I had teal & was also left with like a mint green. Did color fix twice & it helped fade it

For the love of god do not follow this advice... you need to check the bleach at least every 10 min.. the way she did this could damage your hair with no turning back... and def do not slap bleach all over your head like this... if you’re trying to do a quick fix go to a hair dresser.. we’ll hook you up..

I'm so sorry but I have to be honest. I don't know how it looks in person but on video it looks so uneven. The most purple is your new growth. The rest of the hair is a dull gray. This is how I'm seeing it on video. It's not even at all. Only your new growth took to the purple . So sorry though. If you are happy with it that's all that matters . I've been licensed over 40 years. 🤔🤔🥰🥰

Well ofcourse a hairstylist is never going to recommend bleaching. But i'd say if you really want another haircolour just go for it. I have really dark brown hair too and would probably need to bleach it twice to get a nice blonde. But tbh i'd just say go for it. Bleaching really isnt THAT damaging for your hair as long as you put some time between the first and second bleaching session. I've bleached my hair a few times already in the past and my hair never got damaged or dry or whatever.

Christine Phung deep condition your hair right after you wash the bleach out and give it some time to rest that's what I do and my hair never gets damaged from bleach

This reply is super late but I went from a level 3 to a level 9 (babylights and balayage) and my hair stylist used a pH bonder to help reduce damage. My hair only feels slightly damaged now and I'd recommend looking into that

You dont have to bleach it to retouch... Just apply the ION semi permanent hair color... Its conditioner with pigment color wont damage your hair and you dont need no developer

So I watched this video cus youtube brought it up and I was like, "I mean I know how to do that but why not" and I did know how to do it but there's a few specific things you did here that actually super helped me. My hair is wayyy darker than yours so I could never do the 20-bleach bath you did for your roots BUT that was super the right call for someone with hair as light as yours- my instinct would be to just use 20 and not mix in bleach but yeah no a 20 bleach bath is waayyyy better. Also (lol even if you regretted it) I've been trying forever to figure out how to tone my hair properly without developer. I always use wella t18 for 10 volume developer and I will vouch to my grave it's a miracle product BUT I'd obviously much rather be able to tone it without any developer at all. But everytime I try to use a super light pastel purple conditioner I have the exact opposite problem of you here- it always makes it pastel purple, and I mean it looks lovely and I get compliments but it's not what I was going for. But I never thought of literally just leaving purple shampoo (cus as you said that's what you just ended up making yourself lol) in for a few hours instead, cus I think (again opposite problem) that the conditioner makes it saturate too much. So even though you were like "oops mistake" I was like "OMG THAT'S THE ANSWER" so next time I do my hair (lol of course I just did it) I'll use my purple shampoo for a few hours and see if that tones it and if not okay back to the wella lol. Pretty much the only thing I'm wondering- and I literally always wonder this- is does toning ACTUALLY matter for crazy color hair. If you have gotten your hair to a super light blond shade, does toning ACTUALLY matter to get it to white since it's color trickery anyway. I thinkkkk the answer is- yes for shades like pastel blue, pink, or green- but NOT for light purple or silver just due to the very nature of toning hair lol. I always thought for pastel purple (and silver) it was so important to tone it to white first but seeing this I thiiinnnkk probably you could just go from lightest yellow to them since the very process of putting them in will tone the hair. But again if I can figure out how to tone without developer even though it's an extra step like, it doesn't hurt the hair at all so it's just wasting time if anything. I'm sorry this is crazily long I just really appreciated this video cus of those tiny things, though anyone reading this who doesn't know hair dyeing stuff will be so confused cus it'll be in Greek lol.

The way I get my hair white is by bleaching it three times. It's super easy and it comes out white.

If yours is just yellow (not orange, but yellow).. mix a teaspoon of Manic Panic Ultra Violet with 1/2 cup any white conditioner, mix it up, comb it through your hair, leave it in at least 40 minutes then rinse it out. It is very highly likely your hair will then be white or at least extremely close to white. If it happens to leave any pale purple tone behind, don't worry. It will be gone next time you shampoo!
