Jackson and Lexie were just screen filler. The fact that Alex and Lexie were more of a couple than Jackson and Lexie said just how inconsequential Jackson and Lexie were. Jackson didn't even let Lexie meet his mother, but his fling, Stephanie, met Jackson's mom. Jackson's character was mostly a walking contradiction. He was a rich, handsome guy who couldn't get a girlfriend and apparently couldn't afford his own apartment. When he was paired up with girls, they either didn't have chemistry, can anyone say Stephanie and Maggie or the girl was into someone else, like Lexie was.

They never belonged together but for a fling they honestly weren't bad. He knew she loved Mark and she knew he loved April so they knew that they weren't meant to be but they helped each other. I also loved them when they were just friends. Alex and Lex on the other hand were bad for eachother because they never really understood each other and just made out to forget their lost loves even though Lexie didn't fully loose her love while Alex indeed lost her for the next long years.

Okay, so George gets a funeral, Derek gets a funeral but we get nothing for Mark or Lexie. I would have at least liked to see something for them I mean, maybe like a little wake or something but nope nothing. Mark and Lexie could have survived and dealt with the plane crash as part of their character development but no the writers just had to kill them off the show which in my opinion was completely stupid and a waste of time. I guess at least both Lexie and Mark being killed meant they kind of got endgame in the afterlife.
