An elevator is actually the safest mode of transportation on Earth you're more likely to die as a result of stepping out your front door and dying from an elevator which has so many safety redundancies it's almost never going to fail completely so getting attacked by a wolf is rarer than that you're never going to get attacked by a wolf unless you're specifically putting yourself in a situation in which that's possibility

Himalayan wolves don't live at lower altitudes because it's too much oxygen than they need, so they're kinda their own genetic offshoot from their lower altitude cousins. They could eventually be classed as their own species. Dog breeds such as the Lhasa Apso were bred from these wolves.

Hunter here, I’m just here to learn a bit about a part of an ecosystem. I have nothing against wolfs IF they are a part of a nations ecosystem and not causing major harm. I would also like to say that just leaving an ecosystem to do its own thing would effect us more than you’d think considering the way nature delas with overpopulation is brutal. If you wonder what my qualifications are I’m studying game keeping. I would also like to point out that I’m no expert on the subject but know a fair bit.

you had me until you compared the wolves to elevators. That's like apples to oranges. Most people don't encounter a wild wolf as much as they do an elevator. @dragongirl21724 жыл бұрын
What are gray wolves? Wolves are legendary because of their spine-tingling howl, which they use to communicate. A lone wolf howls to attract the attention of his pack, while communal howls may send territorial messages from one pack to another. Some howls are confrontational. Much like barking domestic dogs, wolves may simply begin howling because a nearby wolf has already begun. Population and conservation Wolves are the largest members of the dog family. Adaptable gray wolves are by far the most common and were once found all over the Northern Hemisphere. But wolves and humans have a long adversarial history. Though they almost never attack humans, wolves are considered one of the animal world's most fearsome natural villains. They do attack domestic animals, and countless wolves have been shot, trapped, and poisoned because of this tendency. In the lower 48 states, gray wolves were hunted to near extinction, though some populations survived and others have since been reintroduced. Few gray wolves survive in Europe, though many live in Alaska, Canada, and Asia. Wolf pack behavior Wolves live and hunt in packs of around six to ten animals. They are known to roam large distances, perhaps 12 miles in a single day. These social animals cooperate on their preferred prey-large animals such as deer, elk, and moose. When they are successful, wolves do not eat in moderation. A single animal can consume 20 pounds of meat at a sitting. Wolves also eat smaller mammals, birds, fish, lizards, snakes, and fruit.
@dragongirl21724 жыл бұрын
Wolfpacks are established according to a strict hierarchy, with a dominant male at the top and his mate not far behind. Usually this male and female are the only animals of the pack to breed. All of a pack's adults help to care for young pups by bringing them food and watching them while others hunt.

@fgialcgorge73922 жыл бұрын
Sorry, I know this is another old video, but the research has been out there since 1981 I believe. Alpha wolves do not exist as we know them. They are a bonded male and female. The rest of the pack is generally their young of different ages. Once a breeding pair is getting old they'll often be ousted by new incoming males and sometimes even females. The breeding pair will often leave together and may even possibly form a new pack, one may pass away and the other could become a lone Wolf. There's a few possibilities but generally being kicked from your pack doesn't end well for any wild animals. The "Alpha" idea was formed watching captive, unrelated Wolves interact in an enclosure. As you can imagine there was a lot of fighting. Imagine if even just domestic dogs were all let off leash with zero human supervision in an enclosure... There'd probably be more dead puppers than there were wolves. It's just the nature of of Canids. They want to be social but if they don't have that steady leadership of mom and dad or humans, they're going to sort out whose on top of the pecking order. Almost all captive animals have this behavior. That's why introductions at zoo's are done so carefully. Hell, bring a cat home and let it loose in the same room your cats in without an introduction, I'm guessing you'd wanna have a set of kevlar gloves and a smithing apron. Just putting the info out there and I do really enjoy your videos. Like I said in the comments of the Cougar video it'd be awesome if you kept up these short and sweet animal profiles but also added some longer videos and Paleo Profiles, maybe even shorter ones and longer ones. Again, I'd be happy to help. The educational side of KZbin is very important to me. I want kids and adults who watch educational videos to come away with correct information and so many channels get it wrong. I don't have the skills required or even a computer for that matter. Everything I do is done from my phone or tablet. I hope you guys keep at it. You have a good channel here.

i love wolves, but if you don't think we need a cull from time to time you're either ill-informed or just not using your brain and only thinking with emotions.
@CrabJelly522511 ай бұрын
We don’t. We over culled in the past and now are suffering from a loss of wolves. Deer populations have exploded which is causes detriment to the ecology of Northern America because of this witch-hunt. Wolves have less deadly attacks than most DOGS and BOARS. Only 25 people have died from wolf attacks since 2002. They are not demons and they need to not be vilified by a mass who does not understand the importance of apex predators in an ecosystem
@CrabJelly522511 ай бұрын
There are over 2x the amount of fatal dog attacks on people every year than there are wolf attacks in a period of 20 years. 30-50 die of dog attacks every year in the United States alone. Only 26 people have died of wolf attacks since 2002. 25 wolves were killed in Yellowstone and it was a 20% of their population. That means there was less than 500 wolves in Yellowstone before they were killed.
@SuperSaiyanScandinavian11 ай бұрын
