Because core is kind of a shit place to fight - and these fights were extended fights, which makes it even shittier. Generally, you want some kind of advantage before you try to end otherwise just play the map. These teams both just ran at their opponents core every chance they got.

In their defense, they wrote a 100 something page document about how to fix the game, maybe it's a little unfair to place everything on their shoulders. Maybe someone else, like a corporate genius or something, gets inspired and details the financial incentives so it can all come together

Good document but from that intro I don’t honestly see how this is going to x10 the player base. You’re not gonna sell it to new people by saying hey there’s a new map and 10 new heroes. There’s already plenty of content for newcomers, and the new content would only make the existing players happier. With the amount of gems they stockpiled by now btw they will afford all new content at day 1 anyway. What you need though is to bring dozens of thousands of new people into the game and make it fun for them to spend money. And when they see they can double their investments, be sure the new content will go in without any documents. I personally think some sort of quality PvE mode can be a good gateway into the game. Those things they made before wasn’t really polished, but people I know were happy to play these modes. There’s less toxicity, same difficulty as if you’d play against people. In SC2 coops are 50% of the games played afaik. Casuals would spend money to unlock heroes for PvE.

This spefic ai is an ai that he ordered to read a script in a reddit thread. The other tts ai is something he uses to read the donations text and that will never be removed because it's how he makes money.

@fanhots the way they could bring it back would be to make the code open source.. imagine if the person who made a 150 slide deck on how to improve the game could also code.. let the fan base make mods or maps and then if enough people liked it it could go on official servers. Harness the power of their community. For executives no cost.
