Changbin obviously puts brilliant verse and flow out there but I think half of the impact comes from how Bang Chan arranges Binnie's parts. It's clear especially in this one. He works his butt off to do justice to the flow.

Yeah, the three of them are so symbiotic. Each shines on his own, but together they're just next-level, each one making the others stronger. Chan's not wrong that the three of them together is what makes the magic of the producing.

skz are so weird. I know they really found their sounds after gods menu and everything after it was a reset on an absolutely different level. BUT things like district 9, double knot, side effects, miroh- they are still so iconic. Yeah they sounds rougher but there’s a beauty to it. Watching these kids grow into the artists they are now and imagining just how great they can become has been the highlight of my kpop experience - just musical experience in general. Glad to have you along

Yes hoping they merge their old sound with their new sound I miss the iconic old sound sometimes 😂
@prometheus_bob2 жыл бұрын
District 9 was a great debut for them, but you could tell they hadn't solidified their point of view as much, compared to later title tracks. however, their music is always very self aware and they touched on that as a theme of the album: not knowing who they were, only knowing who they were not, hence the album title "I am NOT". they're so clever for being able to debut with that kind of concept, especially considering Chan was the oldest at 20...Han was literally still 17 when they wrote their debut album. they're amazing, as you know, lol.
@RM_formerlyjustRMbutYTsucks2 жыл бұрын
This one has some elements that continue all the way through SKZ, right up to the present. -- "Stray kids everywhere all around the world" -- the tagline for almost every video -- started in these lyrics. -- Han's emphatic "jikilGE!" line near the end is the root of the exaggerated panting you often see them doing in videos, on stages, in random content. You noticed it in N/S. They did it at the end of Time Out. Every single time you see that, it's them clowning Han's live-stage version of this line (it's not, as a few keep repeating, them just mocking the generic ending-fairy tradition -- it's very specifically mocking Han). -- Both Han's and Bin's raps in this start off with their signature sounds -- Han's high, growly "aahhh" and Bin's "yohhh." These signatures repeat throughout SKZ's discography and beyond and are distinctly identified with them. -- bonus info: Though you're not doing SKZ's storyline, this is one of the defining first entries in that universe (the first was Hellevator, which set things up). This was their declaration of intent: We're not going to conform to the system. We're breaking out and going our own way, even if it means we're gonna have to make our own safe little district in a rundown no-man's land.

i love how district 9 felt like a revolution, like a rebellion against society. as a rebellious person myself, younger me absolutely loved this shit when it came out. i would recommend you listen to Hellevator, which is like the first ever stray kids song, and Grrr, which are both from their predebut album.
@edinak24732 жыл бұрын
Hey it's me again 😏 Not me smirking during your entire intro, knowing that you will love the song 😏 Fun fact that I might have said this exact same with your Hellevator reaction, but JYP said that they sounded bad singing Hellevator because it was in a female key so Bang Chan went ahead and made this song in an even higher key 😏 I was shaking and smiling the entire time leading up to the Binsung rap, hoping you will lose your mind and you didn't let me down 😂 Han's "ach" before he starts rapping has the power to shut off my breathing easily. This is my FAVOURITE Changbin rap as well. They compliment each other so well. There was also a "yoooh" before he started rapping, which is connected to Changbin by the entire fandom. Also since Woojin is not part of the group anymore, the high parts he used to sing are now Han's and Seungmin's I believe. That man can hit a high note like it's nothing I swear. 😭 When you asked "who was that" at that moment that was Lee Know. And the grey haired guy that you actually skipped back to is Woojin. It's a little confusing, cause your brain might have just caught up with you by the time you got to Lee Know or you confused them, which is also okay. This being their debut song just slaps hard honestly. Thanks for the reaction as always! Take care :)

Also, he is a vocalist, so his music is different to what SKZ does. Very positive though - his message is great! Especially considering what he's been through in recent years.
