The auto tune part was Chan! I love this song and other all rap skz songs bc we get to hear the vocalists rap a little (even though Chan has obviously rapped before in 3racha songs but still). Also the heavy breathing references an inside joke they have from a part han did in their debut song where he said “jikilge” really aggressively and then there was a pause where he breathed kind of heavily in performances. In a behind the scenes video the other members mocked him by doing his part and then breathing excessively before he caught them and glared creepily through the doorway haha

the fact that no one else told you to listen to this song is honestly criminal. this was the song that first got me into stray kids, just something about the layers of the music in the background, the bounciness of it, they way the members all play off another in the verses, i just couldn't believe it, i'd never heard anything so interesting and so fun before. and then i got to felix and changbin's verse, and the second i heard binnie doing those pop-rocks lines, the papapap delivery, i was like, "okay, who the fuck is this and where do i get more because WHAT??!" just, such an underrated song, so much fun to listen to, endlessly repeatable, and always, always one of my favorites.

Changbin was a dancer first. Then he was a singer. THEN, after dancing and singing, he became a rapper. He already knew how to sing, well, when they formed 3RACHA, let alone SKZ. It's just that he and Han fell into an informal pattern of Bin focusing more on flow variety and Han focusing more on vocal/pitch variety. The division has never been absolute, but it was definitely a noticeable and reliable overall trait, especially in their stuff up through 2021 (at which time it became apparent that they're both starting to explore more of the other side). N/S is _early, early_ SKZ, so this came long before the majority of what you've heard from them, not from after extensive growth during SKZ experience. His vocal play here wasn't a result of years training/learning through his time with SKZ, but rather just him taking the vocal skills he had from even before he started rapping and using them to play with pitch in a way he rarely bothered with back then. It's one reason we like N/S so much.

there's actually lots of kpop idols that have solo careers whilst still being active in their groups, and I really hope that the members in skz can go solo too if they want to. It would 100% be changbin or seungmin to go solo first, and in maybe 2 years I feel like it would be a really good time to get some solo careers going. Only problem is JYP entertainment has a horrendous record of not really giving idols that chance, but hopefully with skz essentially managing themselves it'll be a possibility at some point.

Finally got around to watching this. I saw somebody say that the autotune part was Chan, but the slurring and the voice sounded like it was Hyunjin. Hyunjin has sort of a lisp in his speech, I think, there is something unique about how he raps/sings/speaks. I'm not sure if "lisp" is the right term, but either way, I think it was Hyunjin. I've seen this video so many times and I'm not sure if I should laugh or cringe, but the song itself is fire imo. The "ooh" part was hilarious to me too. They have a Street Vers. of Boxer and Question as well that I know of, worth checking out, both of those songs are fun, so if you haven't seen it I'd highly recommend :) Thanks for the reaction as usual! They're breathing heavily at the end because there was a meme of Han being the ending fairy (the final camera shot) for one of their performances of District 9. In that shot he was breathing like that lol. This has been a popular inside joke in Stray Kids and with Stays since 2018. You can look up jikilge meme and find plenty of videos of them doing Han's end pose.

the heavy breathing that they do at the end is actually a kpop inside joke haha. it's making fun of what's called an "ending fairy", where at the end of live performances the camera just zooms in on a few of the members while they stand in the end pose of the choreography. they're usually exhausted during the ending fairy after dancing and singing with so much energy, hence the heavy breathing.

In SKZ's specific case, it's a direct mockery of Han's "jikilge" moment in District 9. They've been clowning him about it since day one, in multiple MVs, on stage, behind the scenes, in reality-show content, and even in unrelated content (Lee Know did it during City Fisherman, for example, knowing no one but SKZ and STAY would get the reference and that to everyone else he just looked like a weirdo panting into the camera while sitting around catching fish). Basically, whenever a member of SKZ is seen doing the exaggerated-panting thing and it's not because of a legitimate ending-fairy moment, they are very deliberately, specifically teasing Han Jisung.
