I’m so glad you guys are still posting content. You’re the channel that got me into 3D and helped me score my first 3D job. I then spent years working as a 3D artist which kickstarted my whole career! Big thanks from Switzerland!

If you clone the spline, put the cloner into a connect, then sweep all of that, the simulation should work. Also put the rope tag on the Cloner. It worked for me, good luck and keep making awesome products, I can't do my job with out them.

Thanks! I've been experimenting with that and it's working well. Thanks for being a Customer!
@jeffreyhass68412 жыл бұрын
Seems to work very well as above, but also using the Redshift object tag and material on the connect object to create capsules (match the thickness to the rope radius, play with the mass) and skipping the sweeps altogether. Super-fast.
@charlesjeanboucher2 жыл бұрын
I got a bit confused by this. So for the last step, do you mean Sweep the Connect (which contains the 'Cloner' and 'Segment' Spline) with the n-Side?
@mrk-ism2 жыл бұрын
hmm this didn't work for me, got cloned spline in connect, connect in sweep, tag on cloner.. sim doesn't work (but if I turn off connect it works).. am I missing something?

How did you get them to clump up? Was it just a matter of length and position of the sweeps?

Maybe it's been solved already but the way I cloned the new ropes dynamic was that I placed a clone object inside the sweep, cloning only the segment spline. then I put the clone object and its spline child inside a connect object. now I just move the rope tag from the segment spline to the cloner. like this: SWEEP - nside - CONNECT - CLONER. [rope dyn tag] - segment spline Worked for me. I hope it helps someone. 🤘

I got it working with a cloner. Spline inside cloner. Rope tag on the cloner. Cloner inside connect. Sweep the connect Johnny.

Does anyone know if the Plus Membership is meant for beginners? Or is it more made for people who already have experience with Cinema 4D?
@bobbarth69362 жыл бұрын
It literally includes a bunch of training for beginners to get better in C4D, Octane, Redshift, Arnold, etc.

did you guys get a chance to test RS CPU rendering on M1 macs? If so, any takes on speed/benchmarks vs what we currently have as top gpu speeds?

On my M1 Max Macbook Pro, the GPU is roughly 10X faster than the CPU version of the same scene in RedShift.

Why do they called it "bullet" tags now?
@chrismacmillan29322 жыл бұрын
Someone might correct me, but I think that's the name of the dynamics engine since before it was incorporated into C4D. Maybe back around R12. They just didn't call it that in the interface.
@Greyscalegorilla2 жыл бұрын
Correct. The tech has always been called Bullet Dynamics. The R12 tech is now in that menu. The new tech is in Simulation.

Anyone know how to UV map this kind of thing, attempted to UV map the sweep before the sim is ran, but I cannot generate UV co-ordinates. The only way it works is to UV map the sweep, then make it editable, but then the sim obviously doesn't work - is there a workaround for this ?
@wesleynass59712 жыл бұрын
I haven’t messed with it yet, but the most quick and dirty fix I can think of is to convert the simulations to point level animation. That way all of the geometry stays the same, while keeping the animation.
@patjehuitinga66132 жыл бұрын
You can try to bake the simulation. Then make it editable. always back-up the original. It worked for me when i made a rolling/ bouncing dice.
