I read the review of this album in the Source and made a mental note to order a copy, and for whatever reason, I didn’t get around to ordering it. I finally copped a second hand CD copy of this in the mid 2000s. Great album. I really regret not ordering it in 1991 because it would’ve been blazing. Oh well, better late than never. Still sounds great in 2023.

That hardcore/bragging rap combo. Dope. Studio-produced sub-Saharan Episcopal choir brass/rap "bro"-hating anti-Hispanic shit, son. The real NYC shit. East Coast. The beats are violent, the lyricism is violent but the lyrics are about bragging about your skills. No problem with later Tim Dog/Black Moon/NWA/Dr Dre./Snoop Dogg/DMX/Onyx/Geto Boys/Willie D, but when rap wasn't negativity and shooting/fighting one another cause you're pissed and wanna take it out and scare the "Friends"-watching The WB/CBS-loving white man (no beef with that you do it well), it was a pleasure to listen to.

I love how the first and second songs show that rap beats were still uncommon in rap music in the long run. Only with Bad Boy and Death Row did rap beats become common, and hip hop became mainstream. So hence, this is WWOR Saturday night movie music from the early 90s.
