That was how it worked with the Taurtis Summoning Platform a few episodes later. Grian definitely lost the patience he had with that when summoning Mumbo back to Hermitcraft

I think the mumbo shrine was more than just Grian just missing mumbo, I think his watcher memories seeped through into that shrine since in both instances the people Grian was trying to summon did come

Grian being obsessed with blocks that are hard to get in survival. In evo he took all the leaves from the watchers gift because that was the only way to get them. In a recent hermitcraft video he got really excited when he found a double tallgrass in a chest because it’s hard to get the item in survival
