This is old obviously, but if you guys are still having issues, try installing Optifine or Sodium. Both greatly improved the performance from my potato computer. Up from 20 FPS with dips down to 2-3 up to reliably 60 FPS, no spikes, and I’m also running a 32x32 texture pack and really fancy shaders.

Making the back and not doing it an episode would mean that it would take Grian a full week to make the back and he would not upload for a full week, losing add revenew and making some people angry/sad. So it would have to be little by little every week and the "I missed a full episode" feeling would not work

If you want to actually solve the lag in boatem, there are some things you can do. Hoppers cause lag just by existing, but powering them with a redstone signal (while they're not being used) or placing a composter on top of them (for ones that don't need to pick up items from the ground) reduces the lag. Mumbo has an extremely large amount of hoppers that don't have any of these techniques used.
