Grid 2008 actually had a story to it. you was a young up and coming racer looking to take on all the events in front of you. now it’s just, buy a car & do the race. no story, no real want to do all the races. Grid 08 wasn’t a full out story mode with cutscenes and that but you had the woman always going on at you with the team at how you’re slowly becoming the best driver around. whereas this Grid, it’s almost sandbox. nothing to it.

I picked this up on discount and I'm enjoying it, but yeah I agree grid 2 was intense especially racing at high speeds and countlessly rolling the car several times, the thing is they've rebooted the series and are probably experimenting on what works and what dosent atleast this isn't as bad as autosport though.

I know the damage model got worse but car companies are getting more and more strict about how their cars can be damaged in games. It's still better than no damage at all, like gran turismo or absolutely minimal damage like forza

This game is not bad, but it shouldn't be called Grid anymore, why? - too high gravity, cars are "glued" to the road - In bigger crashes with rollovers (if they appear at all) you got reset, funny thing is that AI can rollover, which is very scripted and looks artificaly - cars are too tough - damage model is pretty simple and less detailed (besides this "carbon fiber damage system thing" don't know how to call it, maybe you know what I mean - this is impressive) - brands like Ferrari, Porsche and even Aston Martin got pussier and don't like their cars get damage in games for some fucking reason, probably this is why damage looks how it looks Maybe I'm crazy, but this things makes grid different, now this is just a next boring arcady racing game like any other with dead multiplayer mode which for some reason have more fucked up damage than the single player game. This game needs a proper damage mod, which could make this game more like Grid. If someone can do this I would rally appreciate that. Thanks for reading lol.

Exactly what I thought. Nothing felt better in Grid than seeing cars get wrecked during intense races. It was dirty racing, that's what made Grid what it was

Grid 2019 doesn’t feel like Grid anymore. Takes some game mechanics from Autosport, but continues the story from Grid 2, but poorly at times. Damage needs to be fixed and multiplayer needs a revive.

Grid 2, Autosports..those were the days. Btw I still play Autosports on my iPad and still the game is much more intense than this clusterfuck of an arcade game. Spending money on the mobile version of the Autosports is a much better investment than to give 2019 version a sale.

Had to see the damage engine before I bought the game. From what I can see its shit in comparisson with the original first GRID were the slightest bump would dent the hood, dent the bumper, glass brakes I mean it was so realistic, this is like NFS or Forrza shit damage engine. Not gona buy this.
