My wife used to play this with a cellist friend of her's in concert. I loved the intensity of it. He was a great cellist. It is nice to see anothet great cellist here. I love the interpretation! Very emotional.

This piece is just fabulous ... such an amazing synergy between piano and cello.... Love how Grieg piano concerto opening is hinted to in the finale of the 1st movement! Grieg melodies that carry you away to another place!

That motif is in almost every one of Grieg's pieces. I believe it's from Norwegian folk music. :)
