To be fair, both my cats get really excited when they get new toys and get the zoomies

My dogs were litter mates so they never really needed toys to stay entertained. Whenever we got them toys they would just kind of lose interest really quickly and go play with each other. But my cats really love to play with toys despite also having other cats to play with. They love to pretend hunt and play with strings and boxes or whatever, so we end up buying a lot more presents for them.

people really don’t give cats enough credit like the idea that different cats have different personalities is just completely beyond the grasp of a lot of people it seems, and the fact that cats aren’t 100% doting and always wanting to be around you apparently makes them inherently inferior to dogs even though cats can be SUPER affectionate and playful cats are just the introvert neurodivergents of pets
