I just wanted mention on the topic of griffin breeding, not any random pair of griffins will mate, for them to mate they must be in the same royal family, how you can tell what family they belong to is the last 3 letters or letter in their name, for example in this video the females name is ali'i and the males name is lazerni'i the i at the end represent the royal family they belong to.

WarDrum ruined griffins in my opinion, because first you have to be level 85 and above to actually tame one, second it takes a lot longer to tame than it should be. Just my opinion.

I think there's something better inside the egg, or maybe a stronger griffin.I’ve noticed that if you tap on spray or neuter (for a griffin)it says, ”This is a griffin, are you sure you want to do this?”but when I tried it on a wolf it said “Are you sure?” I hope that makes sense.. also I’m not very sure if it does it in other Dino’s as well..

On that server we have 5x hatching rates. A regular Fertilized Griffin egg would therefore take 25 hours. Keep up the good work Iguana!

4 hr tame? Are you serious. I was going to tame a griffin in ark, but when I finally managed to knock one out after accidentally killing my last two, I inserted meat and waited for hours, I finally got tired of waiting and gave up, taking the meat out of the inventory and leaving. WarDrum ruined griffins, maybe if they notice all the complaints they’ll change it’s taming percentage gain/taming difficulty, and I really hope they do because this sucks that they made it so hard. (Note, I’m not primal pass so I don’t have any soothing balm, im level 100 with god console but god console really doesn’t help any.)

There must be something more potent than the Allo Kibble. I'm on a Hard server, with Primal Pass, so we can't use the crafting stations for kibble. A 260 Griffin got 1.6% /kibble, with Balm of course... I understand that they should be hard to get, sure. But having to farm up 63 Allo eggs, with a balm and then spend maybe 8 hours to tame is just... no, they must have added something more potent...

Aye, with gigas you pretty much just need some luck and a shit ton of resources. The 170 I tamed a while ago still just needed 3 kibble with balm. (43%/kibble). And how much more potent is the super kibble? If that's what they expect us use, I hope it doesn't need more than 2-3 kibble to tame. Will be needing way too much Amber otherwise...

A level 40 griffin takes at least 16 Allo Kibble with sooting balm (you can also get it in caves and artifacts) and a shafty at least 500 biotoxin. Credit me thats how i tamed my griffin called Daelina.

Heard that the third method of taming has something to do with the surname of the griffins. If you have the same surname (last few letters of your character's name) as a griffin, then the griffin will respect you if you're above level 40. Ex. if the griffin's name (they have names before you tame them) is Loric, and your name has ric at the end, then it respects you.

Found a way to tame them faster. Have a bed with you put taming balm active alo kibble and biotoxin. Use the biotoxin and do the math to go over his torpidity points use the amount needed and go to bed fast. When you wake up he eats alot of the and the taming is up and unconsciones is all the way full. Muahaha this changes everything. Good luck

Griffin kibble works waaaaaay much better. And by the way, griffins can mate 12hrs instead of the normal 1 or 2hrs. So save those precious griff kibbs for a high lvl one.

It couldve taken like 2 hours, not 4, if you used the starve technique, i used a soothing balm, allo kibble, and the starve technique, mine took only like 1 hour although it was a bit lower level

The dive bomb attack does about 15x dmg and u can use the five to escape wyverns,it’s too op and the fact u can equip weapons while ridden,wait u already mentioned that :P welp if u wanna know more I suggest go to the ark wiki or go watch some of Syntac’s OLD vids. Finally tamed a griffin, very low level, still took forever. It follows me everywhere even if I whistle all creatures to stop. I don’t want it following me on certain missions as it’s too low level and will die. Is this a bug or does it need to be locked away when not using it? It also just flys back home when it’s being attacked even if I whistle to follow it ignores and flys home- is this a bug?

HOT TIP: to get 100 taming effectiveness... Tame lower level griffins with same surname to mate them for eggs then cook the egg for griffin egg kibble. Then find a high level griff and use the kibble with soothing balm. I used only 1 kibble+balm for a lvl 100 griffin. 100% tame effectiveness

Learn your lesson from taming a max level griffin without griffin kibble:Tame a level 5 griffin on medium and another lvl5 and breed those two together for griffin kibble and then tame a max level!!
