Plot twist: Sony knows that after the Activision/Blizzard deal goes through, Microsoft will be buying up another big publisher (maybe Ubisoft). Sony doesn't want that to happen, so they are purposefully "kneecapping" themselves so Microsoft and Sony have more parity in market share, thus making it more difficult for Microsoft to purchase another publisher.

It was increased in the US too. They just did it in a way so they can say it wasn't. They released a bundle that included the Horizon Forbidden West for $549. It has replaced the non-bundle version, which is what normally happens when Sony, Microsoft, and Sony release a console bundle. However, almost every time they do this, the bundle releases at the SAME PRICE as the non-bundle it is replacing. This is not the case this time. Sony raised the price for this bundle by $50 even though they haven't done that in the past. So, yes, they raised the price in the US too, they just did it in a way so they can say they didn't and technically not be lying.

Quite interesting that years ago sony released the PS1 which was very generous when it came to pricing and it was a revolution, now PS5 barely has any of the former benefits with the price increase specially considering the regions like in Latin America where prices of PS5 and games are skyhigh

Regarding the "Microsoft and Nintendo can weather the storm" argument, I don't care if Sony can't (though I'm pretty sure they can) do it. As a customer I look at the most compelling option, if I see, that one is pricier than the others that will definitely be a factor in my decision.

just got a new ps5 for $ 480.00 and I hate the new controller so much I don't know if mines defective or what . bearly press r2 and empty the magazine but hold r2 and nothing . there also seems to be a huge delay in button input . 🙄

This is just terrible, Sony is going on a downward spiral towards obscurity at this point. Even Microsoft realized how fucking stupid the 120$ increase in gamepass was, and reverted the decision. And from the looks of it they aren't going to reserve the decision either! Worst part is sony will probably get away with this Scott free too...

Thanks for this video, I needed a good laugh and this was great. Fanboys suck no matter what clan they belong to but a Sony fanboy is consistently the very worst kind. Even the price hike does not matter here in the EU. If you want to buy a PS5 Disc Edition there's no way around the Forbidden West edition together with this piece of crap GT7 for 645€. This is what i had to pay and it goes on for month now. This is how Sony is pushing game sales. If Horizon and GT7 are selling like crazy, it's just because of this kind of shady methods. Besides, they just released a new revision of the PS5 and reduced costs again. The new disc drive alone is 100g less. How did they do it without exchanging al lot of aluminium with much cheaper and less durable plastic? No clue where they reduced the remaining 200g. Maybe new buyers get less copper for more money?

The last time I checked, the price of a Switch is being sold at under MSRP or the console is being sold at MSRP + 1 game (£309.99 MSRP) And this happening in the UK where Sony is hiking the price by £30GBP.
