@@jyava4869 You misunderstood me, what I meant is that to regular military commanders soldiers and everything else are just a numbers game. Griffith recruited people with his charisma so he did end up knowing a lot of people and having many friends -(but not true friends like Guts)- so them inevitably dying broke him. At least that is my interpretation of the scene where Griffith looks at the 10 year oldish boy who was recruited into his mercenary group and the speech of not letting those who have already died for him to have died in vain.

Again I went on to yap without explaining the point... The point is that regular men can retain their humanity when sending thousands to die because they're just numbers. Griffith even though he is a monster was smart so when the thought of sending real human people to die came across his mind he couldn't just dismiss it so he had to come up with the monstrous justification that he explains in his vision during the eclipse.

Trust me it's supposed to be worse. In this edit they didn't ruin his face properly. During his torture his flesh was rotting away too so you couldn't even look at him without puking. He had no fat or muscles left even in the bones so it's hard to tell if he was Griffith. Tbh even for someone like him that torture was too cruel and I was am not trying to defend him here
