Griffiths Sparkle Gnat: Fly Tying Step by Step

The Griffiths Sparkle Gnat. This is a wonderful pattern to start learning to tie dry flies for beginners and a great fish catcher. In this video I do tie it on a size 14 hook which is definitely on the larger size for them. More often than not they will tied on a small hook to represent small clusters of midges or emerging chrionomids. That being said I have had fish take the larger size versions as well when there are plenty of critters landing on the surface in the summer months.
