Griffon Flight - Amnytas

Hey hey everyone! did make a little route vid through Amnytas! its def one of my fav maps to fly in, has some chill stunts and i love the updrafts and the flappy flaps! Sad part is that the fps does drop in some locations, and had some massive freezeframes around the library so sadly i couldnt a portion of the map in the vid as it did affect the quality too much. Outside of that little issue, still had fun making the video! I was expecting some sightseeing with the griffon, but this kind of flying is exeptional and blows my mind every time. I would have crashed the first wall or would end sticking on a branch of a tree in the way.....as always..... Great job!

Oh wow! I only returned to the game recently and finally got around to getting my griffon. You make me want to learn to fly him now. That looks like so much fun.

Its really a ton of fun! Its not an easy mount to control but its for me the most fun one in the game :D

You make griffon flying look so effortless! I'm loving flying my griffon around the SotO maps (Skywatch is my go-to at the moment), especially with the updraft implementation! Out of curiosity (I wonder this every time), how do you go about mapping out and then learning a flying path? How long does it take you to perfect a flight path (I'm sure that depends on the complexity, but I have zero frame of reference to go on currently)? I love my griffon, but don't fly even close to as good as this (one day though!) but I'm eternally fascinated by the griffon flying community's videos

Thank you! And it all depends on the routes really. Like 1 part of the amnytas route i did figure out within a min or two(its the same part i also used on the stage server vid) simply because the stunts did line up super well, and it wasnt the hardest for me personally to fly but it felt fun, so i did decide to put that in this route. Then when flying around doing other stunts, ill spot stunts here and there that i remember. And when it finally comes to a point where im like, i wanna make another video, i simply look at the stunts ive seen before and see if i can chain them together instead of being their own singulair stunt. Most stunts as a single stunt i can get relatively quick, sometimes even on first try. When chaining things together it takes longer because your attentionspan will have to focus much longer. Its most of the time singular 'hard stunts' that crash me in a route, while the other 95% of the route is most of the time quite consistent. I sometimes make variants of the route if i feel there is too much downtime or if a certain stunt just doesnt work for the shots(in this case , the laggy library got cut out of the route) The only routes so far i can say that was all over difficult and didnt have consistent parts is the backwards cam flying vid and the verdant brink route that i havent even published (planning to, but i want to actually do it again but with prettier camera movements. Its an extended version of the 3 cave verdant brink route) Now. I usually do the routes about 5 times clean, and then chose which version is the best. This is mostly related to fps lag or wonky camera movement. If i feel i slightly missed the mark with the camera movement. Or i maybe did a stunt not completely clean but didnt lose speed, , or there is an fps drop somewhere , i retake it simply because i will get annoyed at it later on if i look at the vid and it isnt as pretty as i wouldve wanted.(its for example the reason i did the tangled depths route again, to finally have a version without fps lag). Now the Td route is easy for me so i had that done within 2 clean tries- so within 4 minutes i actually got the footage i wanted But yep, its different per route. Some i get almost instant. But if i have a routeplan but i dont get the entire route within 15/20 minutes minutes i will usually try it again the next day. Sleep helps a lot for the brain to process the information and its usually suddenly a lot easier to do the next time around

For FPS, changing Environment setting to Low helps on this map, it reduces render distance of some buildings, and this map has a lot of them

did do that yeah- it luckily helped for most part but not for the library sadly. there is something at this place that makes you lag ( certainly on full speed griff DX)
