I learn so much from a technical aspect by watching these videos that you post. I enjoy watching and learning from these videos more so then watching matches. What is amazing to me there is not one pro on the WTA or ATP or related Chalkrnger Level events that has not madtered the fundamentals. Even in the warm up the ”rally” ball of Dimitrov or any pro male or female is hit so “perfectly” and consistently and travels with more RPMs and MPHs then the average club player.

I like dimitrov as a person and as a player, but I feel like I’m imitating, or trying to perfectly copy Federer’s strokes. He prohibited him reaching another level, higher than his right now. Building your OWN strokes adds another level of security, power, and would probably help him mentally too, now Grigor is a great player, even beating the likes of Federer and reaching slam finals, but imitation only gets you so far.

Yea it made him a millionaire . That’s good enough

Jordan Stopper To us yeah, hell he is set for life. But you know competitively he has wanted to do more, and I was just stating that I think trying to clone or imitate his entire game after someone else limited his capabilities. He never got to be himself, and the “baby fed” title got to him I believe.
@JuhoTunkelo4 жыл бұрын
Ah come on. Everybody learns the strokes via imitation to begin with. Doesn’t mean he didn’t make his strokes his own. And strokes alone don’t make a winning game anyway. Even Fed has said to stop with the silly comparisons...

Baby Fed. Don’t mean that in a bad way. Has all the shots, just not as often.

he’s obviously very fit, and I really like his forehand - his backhand is stylish but doesn’t look that solid or sharp I wonder if he (and others) grew up trying to copy or model his game on Federer’s, which in the long run may have been a mistake... Djokovic for one didn’t do that, and it paid off very well for him.

You can watch a 4.0 hit the same as this from the baseline. Tennis is very easy, harder than basketball which is the easiest and harder than silly soccer (if this qualifies as a sport) but other than some basic skills tennis is easy to adapt to. It’s more of an activity or game than a true sport as well. Hence why so many millions who are relatively un Athletic end up playing and enjoying tennis, which is a positive, but to glorify over hitting a rubber ball from the baseline is a little naive shall we say.
@LoveTennisOfficial4 жыл бұрын
Not sure if we agree, it’s a sport that requires split second decision making while on the run and coordinating every part of your body from your feet to your head and arms and hands and then having to also control a fast moving object in your hand to impact a fast moving object coming at you at great speed to make it land on a small target you want...erm doesn’t sound all that easy...
@TimTheMusicMan4 жыл бұрын
@@LoveTennisOfficial Tennis has its skill requirements and it takes time to learn the game as the rackets are just too complex for the size of the court, the balls are too light and lively and the string technology is too advanced. The one aspect about tennis is that it is a gender-less specific game, more females play than males probably. There are millions who engage in the game who are not very athletic nor coordinated, yet they can get the ball over the net, they have fun, all good qualities, but tennis, like other weekend sports, can attract a less-than athletic player. Tennis is more difficult than basketball or soccer for sure. Tennis's problem is the modern game is not played 'athletically' like it did in the 90's, 80's and beyond. It's a pure baseline hit back and forth until someone hits the net or out, this is an un athletic approach and therefore has attracted a wider 'un athletic' base. Add in the powerful racket technology (and large sweet spots) and strings and you have the equipment to hit the ball over the net relatively easy.
@JuhoTunkelo4 жыл бұрын
Holy crap you’re still copy & pasting this crap, it’s been years now hasn’t it? How about you get on court instead and see for yourself how damn easy it is. Pay to get on court with a pro and come back to report your findings, yeah?
