Just bought the expansion and OMG have Crate done a fantastic job. Not only is the expansion itself great, whatever limited content ive seen so fare, but the base game runs like a dream now. The game cost next to nothing compared to other games out there but have so much more to offer. I wish more people would give this game a chance. Its the only early access game that ive backed where i haven't regretted it.

I've seen a lot of PoE players who played this game a while back still carrying around components on their character. You no longer need to do this as it was changed awhile ago. When interacting with a Devotion Shrine, required items are automatically taken from either your in-town stash / shared stash. It seems the only thing you need to still carry is Dynamite and Scraps for obstacles in the wild. In fact, with the new expansion, they even removed the soul-bound tag on dynamite, rare crafting items i.e. Ancient Hearts, Aether Crystals/Shard etc. Move all this stuff from all your characters to the shared stash for easy access. It's a great QoL improvement.

I picked this up without ever having played it before when the expansion hit the other day. For me it's a perfect mix of PoE and D3 and I'm having a blast. Forcewave commando almost done with Elite at level 74, and I've got several others at 20-25 and it's awesome.

The inquisitor is basically your duel pistol build. It comes with a skill at the beginning of the tree that enables it. So it opens up that build type to a lot more options.

James D not quite, it depends on which other mastery you choose, e.g with soldier (tactician) youd go DW melee or sword n board

Oh I know it has other options, It just feels like that is what the class is for. The tactician isn't necessarily better with melee, cadence works really well with dual wielding if done right. It's what I'm doing and on about ready to finish the 2nd difficulty. It already feels way better than the similar dual wield battle mage I've done in the past and it had little issue clearing all the games content once geared right.

Loving the inquisitor storm box of elgoloth and the passive which makes any enemy you use it on turn into a searing bond totem, great for clearing big groups of dudes. Ok single target damage aswell so far.

actually, as necro+occultist, you dont really put any points into occultist minions else than buff of raven and hellhound, while in shaman you want to go for briar as a strong and tanky additional minion you simply dont have points to skill the additional minions, points into skel's (37 points) are huge and you need shittons of points to support them by curse (11 points) and passive bonuses like master of death (up to 12 points), soul harvest (1, 1, 12 points, so 14), bysmiel (24 points), dreeg (28 points) etc

no. The game is slow paced. Nothing like the zip zaping you get in PoE or Diablo.

Grim Dawn is a bit slower paced overall, at least compared to games like D3 and PoE. I'd say at the moment Ziggy's playing something that's between the upper and mid levels of clear speed. It won't get much faster than that.

The game is overall a bit slower paced but more in terms of just clearing areas. You can still go from 100 to 0 really quickly even with tanky characters if you don't have your resistances maxed and don't look out. So the slower clear speed does not necessarily mean it's easy or that you don't have to pay attention. Also there are certain class combinations that are pretty fast like a spellbreaker but ziggys clear speed here is pretty average for a character around that level.

dude is in normal mode. He said he was lvl 30 something. You usually start getting movement speed on gear around lvl 40. Besides that, most builds (if you build right) don't start to synergize well until lvl 50.

Almost makes me sad how much I've put into PoE. This game looks so much more interesting at this point to be honest. I don't know much about this game so far, but I've always loved multi-classing type stuff and this seems right down my alley.

both. grim dawn you can play alone, but you need to buy the expansion to play the new content, level cap, classes.

diablotri no, your max skeleton cap can increase (up to 8 or 10 i believe) but you can only summon 3 at a time, it even says so on the tooltip 😊

What about paring nightblade with necro. Also a melee build but it supports the cold, frostburn, poison damage. Thiugh i have to admit it makes harvest of death useless, wich kind of irks me.

it's bleeding damage, not vitality. Honestly, ABB and SS would be better choices from nightblade, alongside with Veil of shadow and pneumatic burst. Execute if you can get that far. But there are better classes to pair necro with. For instance, the one that has vitality damage skills/boosts...or just soldier, done properly. :) To each his own.

I would doubt that. There is pretty much no way to go wrong with a soldier. Cadence is just so insanely powerful with proper attackspeed.

Dark3Nesz the complaints in the forums are to do with the fact it has no legendary set to support it, doesnt mean the class will be bad as you could use non set leges and well rolled MI's

the best thing about GD is that any build is vilablke cause every build can bring u through the game and u will have fun with it! sure some builds are way stronger and have mb faster clearspeed of bosses/mobs but your enjoiment is not like in other agmes where u grind till endgame and then start the game. in GD u hav fun from starting on lvl 1 till getting last boss on highest difficulty (like good old diablo) ;) and u dont have to look up which build is viable for endgame rly cause u dont play this agme for endgame u play it to have fun on the way to the end!!

Yes every build can take you through the game, but some builds kill final bosses in 2-3 seconds while others take 5+ minutes, and some can't even do it without kiting and potions. But they all can. There is just one boss, that is optional, that almost no builds can do except 2 or maybe 3 very specific.

Ludak021 not entirely true anymore, some builds have an incredibly hard time in malmouth, to the point where theyre not viable there. I havent had this problem personally with my builds but have heard it from others, the main culprits being titans one shotting them etc

It's enjoyable to play something a bit different every now and then. PoE does for sure beat out GD overall but GD has some unique appeals, especially in it's gearing and skill proc systems.

One thing that is 1000% stupid about PoE is the currency system being basically locked behind lvl 70 content, mapping RNG, and "the early bird gets the worm" philosophy. Oh, and "hope you played as this build/character", too...constantly having to dodge nerfs and still getting shit gear/map drops while grinding shit low-tier maps isn't fun when you don't have 8 hours a day to spend on the game. But at least PoE isn't filled with empty areas of no-mobs or end-game mobs with 70% res against single elements that some classes are forced to design towards...

conditwinseverytime while I heavily disagree with his comment on poe vs gd, what you wrote is definitely bs too. You can level a lot faster in gd and the meta has not changed less in any of the 2 games.
