Yes! Necromunda is definitely my favorite specialist game and one of the most interesting hive worlds in my opinion.
@GrimDarkNarrator6 жыл бұрын
With so many hive worlds in the Imperium, there potential is limitless. But Necromunda is indeed one of the most famous and oldest from the canon.

Truly charming place, people are very friendly(bunch of cutthroats & thugs) and drinks are cheap. I still remember the taste of fine Wild Snake. "Green hell" of Cretacia sound's like fun to me.

At least, arguably there's an exit to the jungles. Good luck getting out from the lower levels of the hive if you're poor.

GrimDark Narrator it’s been a good minute since I have, my dad got first edition in 90 and he got me Necromunda in the good old days of 2000 when I turned 10. A lot of things I miss about the old days, like the Ultramarines having their half Eldar librarian.....Also Rainbow Warriors

Great video on 1 of my favorite Imperial Planets GDN . TY for mentioning the ash wastes, it was one of my favorite necromunda expansions,back when GW used to encourage gamers to scratchbuild their own vehicles (or even use 1/48 scale historic vehicles from other companys, w a few of their bits/figs stuck on ) & the ruleset being created as players wanted something along the lines of the Road Warrior/Mad Max movies. This whole subject brings back alot of great memories . TY

I'd suggest a choice on your part...or perhaps a vote: follow the same vein as the Astartes (post 1st Founding)...do a planet/system (or even Sub-Sector/Sector...nah...not yet) of deep lore interspersed with those of less lore. In that way, the most obvious choices such as Necromunda, Cadia, etc. are given continuity and yet others (worthy of only 12-15 minutes total) get honorable mentions along the way.
@GrimDarkNarrator6 жыл бұрын
That's a good approach, at least for those with enough lore for 1 video. I'm not sure how to approach those that I can fit 2 or 3 in video. Historically, my videos called "Famous Hive World (or any other type) part 1, part 2, part 3 don't do well.

Since you already covered to some degree the planets each of the primarchs was found as well as those associated with the Horus Heresy, will those be skipped over?
@GrimDarkNarrator6 жыл бұрын
If i can find enough lore to cover some of those planets (without repeating what I said in the primarch video for 80% of the duration, lol) I'll definitely cover those too. Fenris is one I'll make a video about for sure, but very few have as much background as that one.

Typical of large Hive Worlds, hmm? Must mean that Hives are among the very worst places to live in the Galaxy, except for actual "hostile" territory. Ahh, Necromunda. This is what happens when a verdant garden world is given over to material productivity above all else. In the days of the Human Federation the colony was abundant in natural riches, both mineral and biological, but dozens of thousands of years spent feeding armies and supplying materiel has apparently sucked her dry of that diversity, which could conceivably made her any other kind of civilised world. Beside lamenting what could have been, looking at Necromunda as she currently stands is an amazing learning experience in terms of ecology, anthropology, xenology and sociology. Despite the ecological damage wrought by all that industry over all those years, still Necromunda thrives. You just have to look *inside the hives* to find her life. Consider, if you will, the Necromudan Spiders. There are thousands of species of Spider living within Hive Primus alone and they provide the resources for hundreds of industries... the eyes of the largest examples (when dried and treated) can be fashioned into sparkling jewels of exceeding lustre and their venoms have a myriad uses from the obvious (toxins) to the not-so-obvious (medicines) through to the outright surprising (fertiliser). It is this adaptability, this will to endure displayed by both her people and her wildlife, that makes Necromunda valuable beyond what meagre mineral resources she still has in vast slag heaps and spoil mountains. Perhaps the galaxy's outlook on Necromunda and other Hive Worlds could be changed from fear and pity to something more complete if only the wider population was willing to look at the world through the eyes of one of the "natives" of Hive Primus' Underhive; a Ratskin. They see no desolation, no world destroyed by industry and crushing monotony... to them Necromunda is divine being that cares and provides for her people: a place of beauty and plenty if only you know where and how to look... ...then again, most Ratskins would be more likely to kill an outsider than sit around and chat with them, so you've got to take all of this with a measure of perspective. At the end of the day Necromunda provides weapons, ammunition and recruits aplenty, which is all the Imperium will ever ask of her.

One could argue that living at the bottom of a hive city is just as bad as any hostile territory in a warzone :D
