More, more, more, hehehe!!! You gonna play all the choices anyway, so after Dune, maybe the Houses of the main story. Every subject gonna interconnected a some point. The Butlerian Jihad, for me is a cannon subject but like StarWars, could be explored after the main plot, even after "Children of Dune". Continue your fine work Grim. Thanks.

I love Dune, read the ENTIRE series (including his son’s books as well and yes I think they are cannon), and I love the fact you are doing Dune lore. I hope this series goes on for a while, there is a TON of material out there to discover. Also if you haven’t read any Dune books, and you like sci fi, or even if not, you should read at least ‘Dune’ the first book. It is sci-fi but so much more. And the later books get into some really cool stuff I don’t want to spoil. If you have seen the old Dune movie and dislike it, you may still like the book. If you like the Dune movie, then you should love the book. Tl;dr Read Dune.
@nowhere4744 жыл бұрын
The 2000 SCI FI NETWORK version is faithful to the Source Material, but lacks the STYLE of the 1984 version. Assuming that you don't read. But YES, READ THE SERIES, if you can.
@Mortiis5584 жыл бұрын
The Ancient WUN: ADEPTUS TROLLARIUM Yes it is a lot more faithful, but does have some budget issues that crop up. I still enjoy it for what it is tho. So give the show a shot as well.
@GrimDarkNarrator4 жыл бұрын
Oh I did read Dune and listen to the audiobook multiple times. Definitely one of my favourite pieces of sci-fi. Never read the entire saga, to my shame. I only read up to God Emperor, but hope to remedy that in the future.
@GrimDarkNarrator4 жыл бұрын
@@nowhere474 I agree the 2000 version is more faithful to the story. Its budget limitations do show at some point. But for its small 20 million budget, adapting dune in a respectful manner and in 4+ hours no less is still an achievement in my opinion. Children of Dune, on the other hand, despite apparently having the same budget, did an amazing job, in my opinion.
@Mortiis5584 жыл бұрын
GrimDark Narrator If you made it to God Emperor you have pretty much “finished” Dune. I am not saying that the rest of the books dont offer anything or shouldn’t be read. Quite the opposite. But as far as Paul and Leto II go and the Golden Path, it all kind of ends in God Emperor. But if you like what you have read so far, at least finish Heretics and Chapterhouse. I don’t want to spoil anything, but some old characters make a reappearance and some crazy shit goes on.

I vote B. You can't explain The Spacing Guild without reference to Melange. You might be able to delve into The Great Houses a bit but the conflict between the Harkonnens and House Atreides requires some knowledge of Melange. So unless you;'re going to assume we're all familiar with the basics of the Dune universe I don't see any alternative to B. 😎

The Spacing Guild, definitely. Like everything else in this extremely well-crafted setting, it connects to everything else, but given that the Guild is the only feasible means of interstellar travel in the first trilogy and part of the second, it seems a natural place to go next. Once an understanding of the Guild is achieved, the hows and whys of a lot of other things make much more sense.
@GrimDarkNarrator4 жыл бұрын
That does make sense.

So did any of the houses try and grow the worms on other planet's I'm guessing that they did but its more than likely going to a case that the spice made wasn't to the standard of the dune worms. Also gdn dune is something I very much love if it's a case were you make a video once a month or one every two weeks it doesn't matter to me because this is worth the wait as for the vote well the spice melange is very temping however A the spacing guild takes my vote when playing the pc game of dune you had your main faction but also you could have two sub houses and the spacing guild was always one of my house's the second one I would also use was the emperors terror troops which off the top of my head I can't remember how to spell their proper name but yeah they were always my second choice in house's. As always grim another great video thanks very much for the upload

Its well known that these people, in their eternal quest for more spice, did indeed try to grow spice on other worlds. However, they all failed. At least until much later in the saga. The troops you are referring to might be the Sardaukar. They are a favourite topic for me too and I hope I'll be able to do them justice at some point.

Hello Grim. Good video. Keep 'em coming. I vote A. Back when I read this for the first time at around age 14, I introduced it to friends, some of whom stuck with it to the end of the book. Most of them however, did not see the importance of things like the Spacing Guild, and were distracted by the inter-House fighting and Imperial machinations of the Emperor Shadam. So, I choose to have you propound upon the Spacing Guild. speaking Frank-ly
