I only heard about Grime Gran, on TV AM this morning and I'm hooked. Typical, UK and I love it. Just seeing a mature woman chatting with men who could be her grandsons. Seeing how the men have respect for Gran. notice they don't use foul language RESPECT ! but Gran can swear whilst chatting because of her age, Gran's seen more of life than they have. There's not a care about Colour. Nan loves, them and they love Nan. RESPECT !

Annette Maxwell she knows all these artist because of her grandson. She’s known most of them since they was children and is very well respected by a lot of the British grime artist because she opened her home to them and allowed them to make their music in her home just to keep them off the streets. That’s why they very rarely swear in front of her. A lot of the British grime scene always say thank you to her in some way or another whether it’ll be doing interviews and they’ll bring her up or dedicate their music to her. A lot of people think this is fake but only about 1% if that is just made up for entertainment, the other 99% is genuine she loves all these boy’s as if they was her own flesh and blood and has been there for most of them from the word go. I’m surprised it’s taken so long for her to get her own show and recognition in her own right because a lot of the lads would most likely be in jail, dealing drugs or even worse if it wasn’t her compassion and letting them use her home to start their careers. She proves it doesn’t matter what you look like on the outside everyone deserves a chance and to be treated the same, she doesn’t discriminate and that’s why she’s an amazing woman! A lot of people who write kids off could learn a trick or two from NAN! XoX

TJ she’s not a character this is exactly what she’s really like all these grime artist most of them started their career in one of her spare bedrooms! If you ever hear the artist talking about “NAN” in interviews or see a NAN dedication on their albums this is the woman they’re all talking about. She helped these boys and stopped them from going down the wrong path by opening her home to them and keeping them off the streets. She’s extremely well respected and loved in the grime scene and these artist most of which she’s known since they was young kid’s always find away to show their love, respect and appreciation for her because of everything she’s done for them and allowing them to start and have proper careers and you just can’t put a price on that sort of love and respect. They all love her and she loves and treats them as if they was her own flesh and blood. A lot of people nowadays who just write all kids off as troublemakers could learn a thing or two from NAN who never gave up on these boys!

If anyone ever did anything to harm her, they wouldn’t think twice about dropping everything and coming to her aid. It’s probably why nobody has ever attempted to do anything to her because they know if they did, they’ll have most if not all of the UK grime scene after them. The work she’s been doing for years and still does now deserves proper recognition she’s been around for years and the fact that people who aren’t familiar with the grime scene are only just starting to take notice of her and her hardwork is great, but people should have been giving NAN proper recognition a very long time ago. I’ve known about her for years and I’m glad that others are starting to notice her and get to know the “NAN” behind most of these artist who they talk about a lot in interviews. I wouldn’t want to cross her I don’t fancy the whole of the British grime scene baying for my blood and head on a spike! XoX

JUSCHILIN1 I know tell me about it! This incredible woman has been around for years and is very well respected and loved in the grime scene! She opened her home to all these artist when most of them was still kids themselves and allowed them to make their music in her own home. A lot of these artist lives could have been very different if it wasn’t for NAN. People nowadays are to quick to write kids off. NAN was different she stopped theses boys from going down the wrong path and that’s why they all love her so much! If you listen to a lot of older grime artist interviews and you hear them talking about “NAN” this is the very lady they’re talking about. They love her and she loves them as if they was her own flesh and blood and the artist will never forget who helped them in the beginning and you just can’t put a price on that sort of love and respect!

If anyone tried to harm her then most if not all the grime artists will drop everything they’re doing and stand by her side and would be looking for revenge, because to them she is the grandma of grime and none of them who got their start because of her acts of kindness will ever forget where they started, in NAN’S back bedroom years ago when most of them was still kid’s. People nowadays who just write all kids off as troublemakers could learn a thing or two from NAN. She opened her home up to these young kid’s and teenagers without a second thought and gave them a fighting chance at making something of themselves without having to commit crimes to get to where they wanted to be!
