Its really clever, I forgot the technical term for it but its where you make the word soundlike what it is eg: when singers sing the word high in a song and make their voice go higher Grimes did this by making her voice like a 'crackling' sound of fire

I keep trying to explain why I like Grimes so much and the only explanation I can come up with is how every song is layered. The melody, the vocals, the beats are intertwined in a way I have never experienced with other artists much. It feels... Alive. Every time I listen I hear it differently, notice something new about it, as if it has physical volume and one can look inside.

Lyrics: So we party when the sun goes low Imminent annihilation sounds so dope I'm not shy but I refuse to speak Because I don't trust you to understand me You know me as the girl who plays with fire But this is the song I wrote you in the dark I'm not gonna sleep anymore (I hear they're calling my name) I'm not gonna sleep anymore The boys are such a bore The girls are such a bore I never trust the government And pray to God for sure, yeah I don't need to sleep anymore That's what the drugs are for Every city has a place like this Underneath the bridges where the tainted kiss Bullet wound with the butterfly wings So I can sing along while I break things You know me as the girl who plays with fire But this is the song I wrote you in the dark Ooh, you know me as the girl who plays with fire But this is the song I wrote you in the dark I'm not gonna sleep anymore I'm not gonna sleep anymore The boys are such a bore The girls are such a bore I never trust the government And pray to God for sure, yeah I don't need to sleep anymore That's what the drugs are for Paradise on the right, hell on the left The angel of death right behind me Paradise on the right, hell on the left The angel of death right behind me Paradise on my right, hell on my left And the angel of death, she said to God "Un-fuck the world, un-fuck the world You stupid girl, you stupid girl" I'm not gonna sleep anymore I'm not gonna sleep anymore The boys are such a bore The girls are such a bore I never trust the government And pray to God for sure, yeah I'm not gonna sleep anymore That's what the drugs are for That's what the drugs are for The boys are such a bore The girls are such a bore I never trust the government And pray to God for sure, yeah The boys are such a bore The girls are such a bore I never trust the government And pray to God for sure, yeah

I just mean what I say.

It sounds silly but Miss Anthropocene so far sounds exactly like what i felt Claire // Grimes had the full potential for. I love her early stuff but after listening to her for 5 years i feel she reached a beautiful musical maturity. So far from this album my favorite is So Heavy I Fell Through the Earth. She has turned from fairy princess to Anthropo-cosmical Queen. This new album will slay.
