I feel like he was hit with more info than he could handle. From Trubel’s memories he saw that she was a Grimm, that was more than likely what caused his break down, but I feel there is more. Along with the knowledge of her being a Grimm he saw all of the wesan Trubel has fought, defeated and killed. Some that even this guy wouldn’t ever consider crossing. Instead of feeling like he could take her even though she is a Grimm, he saw what happened to all the other people who had that same thought and where that led them. Wesan already have a fear for Grimm’s edged into their instincts, childhoods and culture, Trubel’s memories only strengthen that fear to the point he was reduced to a child who is trying to shake off an all too real nightmare. These are my personal thoughts at least.

Would also like to add that many of her ealrier (before she mer nick) encounters with wesen must have been traumatizing, meaning that whatever highly stressful, anxiety nedisning and/or trauma related memories also got sucked up from her mind into his’s. Being hit with like (estimated) 15+ years of trauma in less than 10 seconds probably is a recepie for mental disaster.

@@pinkpuff8562 Yeah, I think he also absorbed her emotional traumas...not just the wesen she fought/killed. Remember her parents were killed by wesen and she was on the streets and probably felt like she was going crazy. And was in the foster system as well. He got a lot from her emotionally.

This how I messed with an illithid in D&D, he probed my memories, problem was I was Psionic and was a being that was an Amalgamation of 20 different souls so I had 20 sets of memories. Needless to say, when I created a Psionic feedback loop while he was linked to me I basically crippled it and we had fun throwing it into the volcano where it's lair was.

_If_ we could make sure that no innocent people were punished like this, I'd agree. Maybe if we actually had the technological/neurological/... knowledge and methods to do this, we'd also be able to look into _their_ memories to verify that they were indeed guilty, but without that assurance, I wouldn't want to inflict something so potentially horrible on an innocent person. Depending on the alleged crime, I'd consider it torture, and on a similar level as capital punishment...

Wait. Could this be another power interaction. Like with Nick getting heighten senses from being blinded by worms and getting super strength from being a zombie. I remember Trubel didn't have any more nightmares and less mental breakdowns after this. Does getting mentally attack increases a Grimm's mental endurance does dealing with this specific Wessen take a load of their mind. Like puts their brain chemicals back to baseline and shove all the imbalances into the poor Wessen along with some memories and trauma?

I remember when this aired many people did not like Trubel at all everything was said about her being the unnecessary show’s Scrappy to wanting her to die instead of Kelly and Hexenbiest Juliette. I was one of those people who agreed. But in hindsight looking back at the series now Trubel’s involvement was a good thing if for Nick to be more proactive in Grimm matters. As a cop Nick couldn’t kill Wesen as freely as he would have liked and when he did killing was a last resort for him Monroe being kidnapped by the death cult was an example how much Nick could have got done sooner if he was less cop more Grimm. Him being Trubel’s mentor was good as at the time before the stuff with Adalind and his son it allowed Nick to train another Grimm pass on what his family knew to another and help them continue the fight against evil Wesen. More than that it allowed someone to do the things that needed to be done that the team couldn’t do especially with the stuff with Juliette going out of control and almost killing Nick it was Trubel who stepped up and did what no one else could. She definitely was Nick’s perfect protege.

They did a good job with Trubel closing her eyes when he first changes, but later, they are looking directly into each other's faces, so he _would_ have seen her black Grimm eyes and known to keep away... It's all those little inconsistencies (along with mangling the German words and lack of follow-through on some plot points) that turned me off the series... It's fun to watch a few tidbits here and there, but I'd risk ending up with my eyes turned permanently upwards for all the eye-rolling if I tried watching the series again...

My money is on how Grimm react to the special abilities of some wesen. His kind can most likely keep some separation between themselves and the memories that they’re stealing, but Grimm memories don’t allow that somehow.

Notice how the memories he sees are the intensive ones Trubel can’t forget? When he sees from Trubel’s perspective, those wesens just woge and attack her. (So vivid) Thus he was able to tell Trubel is a Grimm (cuz before he wasn’t able to tell when Trubel has her sunglasses on) and increases his fear as a natural instinct when facing Grimms. Of course he can try to kill Trubel, but he saw the consequences to those ones who attempted to do so before him... in addition to this large memory base, he’s having a hard time to process through...
