They were putting themselves above him; granted, for them, it was about biological necessities and not vanity or greed, but they were putting their wants and needs above and before his. It was selfish and cruel of them to refuse to acknowledge how much they were hurting their own son; that's what makes me not have any sympathy for them.

Honestly, as sad as the ending of this episode was, the saddest ending for me is the one with the assassin bug Wesen (The one that deals with old wesen suffering from dementia). The ending for that one, oh my God.

@@itspersiangulfmoron.repeat2242 What you need to know first: The assassin bug wesen basically “puts old wesen to sleep” the ones suffering from dementia. There’s a string of murders happening in Portland. The thing is that the murderer is a wesen who is also suffering from dementia so he’s not even aware he’s out on a killing spree. The ending is Nick allows the assassin bug wesen to do what he does (putting the old wesen to sleep). The murderer’s wife (also old but not suffering from dementia) tells her husband something like “You can sleep now. I’ll see you in the morning.” I’m not very good at explaining, but it’s much sadder than it sounds.

The Wesen is Gevatter Tod, they're contracted by Wesen Apothecaries to aid Wesen families with family who have dementia. They're highly respected, they more than likely help with any Wesen want death with dignity or assisted suicide. That episode was very bittersweet

It's like being a drug addict. Your brain gets rewired and the overriding need is to get another hit. They may hate themselves for it, but they can't stop themselves. They even did it to their son knowing that the authorities brought his body to the morgue intact and they are leaving him boneless, which would make them suspects.

Couldn't let him go to waste, and I'm just throwing this out here, but maybe in old times when an Barbartus-Ossifrage died, their loved ones would feed off of their body as a means to give respect to them or depending on the case honor their life. Just a small theory but it could be possible!

@@toomanyaccounts You're not wrong there, but in a clip, in one of Nick's books it read that Barbartus-Ossifrage went to places of death like battlefields, workhouses and slums. But it is possible that in modern time they would feed off of animals like deer. Hell, it might be true, and it's just this family that feeds off of humans. But that's just my theory.

​@@erynnmurphy2996 I doubt about the possibility of feeding on animals. It's shown how much he despised killing humans, and how much of a burden it was for him to find only people about to die. If he could have feed on animals (even cats and dogs), he would have done so, as it would have been a too much easier option.

@@PKAC972 there is the matter the amount of bone and the amount of energy to liquefy the bones and extract them. slaughterhouses were mentioned so cows would have provided a lot of bones. the problem is in modern times getting the refuse bones without being noticed.

Wesen have their own things going on, it's just part of their way of life. I imagine some animals have certain instinctive/emotional perceptions about what humans do. (Granted though this wasn't what they're son wanted at all.)
