Excellent analysis, Trina. Back in 2010 when I first saw this, I was annoyed by the outcome. I remember thinking how unfortunate it was that one MC can put effort into their bars, the other can yell random lines that barely rhyme -- which had me cringing at times on first view -- and the latter is handed the battle. I caught everything Ms.Fit said the first time, and I'm a Bars Over Everything judge of battles, so I've always seen this battle as a bar-for-bar win for Ms.Fit despite what anyone else says. Granted, she wasn't amazing and showed definite room for improvement, but what she said was WAY better than what her opponent said, and I thought that was supposed to matter most. Silly me. So I was disappointed that at Grind Time, which was supposedly about the lyricism more than the hype, loudness and level of disrespect seemed to trump everything else. I'm glad Ms.Fit didn't let the outcome deter her. Her next time out, she went crazy and continued climbing. And apparently QB realized that her luck would soon run out if she didn't step up her pen, which she did.

It could be as simple as not having the battles on the stage. I don't know for sure, because I haven't been to the venue, but it just looks terrible on film.
