Building and testing the most dangerous and outrageous grinder disc designs! In today's episode we have Power Hammer 5 000 000! It has 4 hammer heads ready to nail at 7000 rpm and spread love around! Don't try this stuff at home, all designs here are designed to be entertaining content, not to be used in real life by anyone. Manufacturing any of these designs is going to result in terrible injuries and death! We are trained professionals with strict safety plans that allow us to test these safely in controlled environment with out putting anybody on harms way.

A friend of my father made something like this. Only the wheel was about two meters in diameter and I think he only had two axes mounted to it. Spun up to a decent spin he used it to chop wood. Amazingly he died as the heart gave out and still with all fingers and toes even after using his insane wood chopper for about ten years.

Could you turn on the mechanism and then lower it down to the nail as it's spinning? That way the mechanism is already to full speed before it begins hitting the nail. That way the nail won't immediately bend. I feel like that would work and you could drive the nail all the way into the wood

The hammers need a stiff spring to keep them in the hammering position. They need to be as stiff as possible while allowing them to deflect off the object being hit and to rebound to the ready position. I speak as an expert but really have no clue or experience, just seems like it would be an improvement!

You need to get rid of that huge weighty disc in the centre? Angle grinders are designed to spin much thinner low weight items. The centre should be very thin, and doing so should significantly increase the RPM's. Especially with the knives, they felt so bottlenecked by the huge thick piece of metal. Maybe less so for the hammer heads, but I'm sure they'd still go much faster with a much thinner disc...

I've got a real life on that I made that ended up working quite well. I helped to build a house for my parents in California that was built of straw bales. I wanted to make some decorative nooks for books and display in the master bedroom. First I roughed them out with an electric chainsaw to remove most of the straw about 150mm into the straw bales but still needed to make the back nice and flat so the plaster would be nice and smooth for the wrought iron and cherry wood shelves that I made to go inside. So I took the safety guard and disc off of the grinder and mounted a 200mm skill saw blade to it. I held it out at the very ends of the handles and it worked quite well to smooth out the back surface of the nooks.
