Guys, you really should try to get in contact with Robert Dunn from the KZbin channel "Aging wheels". He has two older Solos that where of the very first series and more of a "prototype" then the ones that where actually sold to customers, so his two are basically "Gen1" Solos, while yours seems to be a "Gen2" or maybe even a "Gen3" version. I'm sure Robert would love to get the chance to actually see the differences in person and maybe make a Video about them, doing a comparison between his earlier Solos and your later model.

Guys, I think Robert at "Aging Wheels" has two of these, one of them non op. Give him a call, and he might no a thing or two about them. Btw, as you insert the big foot (Hyabusa!), try to get your balance wheel to wheel close to 33%, maybe one or two percent biased to the drive axle- and get a 380- 400 mm rear tire. That should give your a good start on the handling/braking. ON the drive home, Will, you were a great choice for lead driver; you do terrified better than almost anybody I know and never let go of the wheel no matter what! Robert, who has an affliction for truly weird cars, said the handling was a bit squirrelly. Get the Center of Gravity as close to the centroid of the wheels to reduce the "tippiness". More awesome coming in the big woods!

It's a very good idea 💡 but poorly made/executed design.....I don't understand why no one can figure it out. If made using common sense, they could sell a ton. It's actually pretty easy. Build a small, but cool looking, fun to drive, affordable vehicle, that gets great 50+ mpgs & is simply built/reliable. Take a lightweight Go-Kart like frame with suspension & add an aerodynamic lightweight weather enclosure. Even back in the 50s they could build a small 2 seater that only weighed 1400 lbs like the Porsche 550 coupe.

Range anxiety doesn't really exist, the issue is actually charging anxiety. There might be quite a lot of chargers out there, but you never know if they'll be operational or occupied by the time you need it when you're driving long distances. Some chargers throttle back significantly and could leave you waiting for a lot longer too. Charging is still the biggest issue with EVs and having been part of an EV-focused Facebook group I quickly learned that charging was the most frequently discussed topic too.

That is just the coolest thing I've ever seen from a North American "car" maker, that wasn't made by a real mainstream company. I know that the camera probably hides the imperfections, but it looks like it was designed by Chevrolet or Ford and built on an assembly line for thrifty single commuters or cute little old ladies who would LOVE IT. You guys should convert it to a hotrod with a real Tesla motor and battery for lightening fast charging. The fastest Tesla Plaid went 8.71 sec, but because of its size, your Solo would do like 5 seconds in the quarter mile. The Solo is a real cool piece of automotive history that was built near Vancouver BC here in Canada where I am. It was such a hit and showed so much promise, that it won the won the Automotive Innovation Award at CES in 2018. It was going great with huge investment from stock sales, but then they moved the manufacturing to China in 2019 and the the Chinese builders screwed everything up electrically. Its going to be a blast to see what you do with it, but it sure was an incredible find for you guys. Stay safe, stay healthy and be as happy as you possibly can be. 🤘😁👍

I drove my neighbors solo. It was amazing to drive. Everyone wanted to know what it was and how they could get one. Seriously it was a great little car

You cant go wrong, when you have what looks like a young crosby stills nash and young type mustached person in the chase car. That mustache matches the handlebars of a bike, you could 3d print a copy to make a hood ornament like some people do with the horns of cattle. That mustache helped to boost views of the presentation and will be talked about by future generations for a yet to be determined period of time. He could open a mustache school, not a college, but a university!

In the early 70's I used to travel cross country in a clapped out 10yo Beetle by drafting semi's. One round trip from Nebraska to DC cost me $26, around $200 today.

The Renault lion logo and the bull on the Solo are similar because they both are using the same “Rampant” pose borrowed from historic heraldry design (ex: medieval coat of arms). The most common is the Lion Rampant, but you could have a range of animals in the rampant pose depending on the family’s heraldry.

Funny you compared the logo to Peugeot, because Peugeot had a concept car back in 2007 called the 20Cup. It's a reverse trike as well. Originally they were going to produce it and run a one model racing league, but as far as I know, it never left prototyping. Look it up, it's a great looking beast. I'd buy one.

These things actually appeared in an Episode of DC's Legends of Tomorrow! Season 6 Episode 3 to be exact..I am currently re-watching it and saw a couple of these in the background in a scene and remembered about them, then of course I see it again in this thumbnail and get excited wondering what you're going to stuff into it to make it crazy! 😂 ..can't wait to see more antics with this thing! Cheers from NY 🎉
