Grinding Serrations is Easier Than You Think.

Let me walk you through the way I grind my serrations. There are a few things you need, but I bet you can find a work-around, if you don't have these grinder attachments. I hope you enjoy the video

Great setup! Love the profile of that blade. If you do a first pass at 90 degrees on a 60 grit blaze or similar thickness belt and then follow it up with kind of a "sharpening pass" with an A30 trizact gator on your bevel approach, it can give you two advantages: it's a bit easier to make the depth of the scallops more consistent (because at the 90 degree approach, you don't get as much of a fin so it is easier to see where your plunge is stopping) and the A30 at an angle gives you slightly more ellipsoid profile so the points of the serrations end up being sharpened at a slightly more obtuse angle. It helps make the tips a bit stouter. Lovely work, as always!

I appreciate that. Thank for watching. I used to do a 90° pass, but it made my serrations a lot larger than I wanted. With the wheel being at an angle, the diameter of the wheel is effectively smaller. I’d still do it that way, of if I has a smaller wheel. I truly appreciate you sharing your tips.
