I love the old time elements of this album, especially on christmas kids, it's the genre that the ronette's used to sing in and just in general that popular genre in 50s-60s love songs. The harmonized vocals, the cheery romantic tune of the songs, it gives a bizarre mix of feelings, adding the borderline threatening lyrics. Also I feel like the album title is very fitting and I can relate to it a lot. I think about the past a lot of time, even the past I wasn't around in. The christmas kids song hurts a bit. My grandpa died a couple of months ago and it made me think about his life. We never truly knew him as a person. It made me sad, not even for the fact that he was gone but for the fact that I think his heart hurt a lot and things ended up the way they did. I just feel like he had so much potential but wasn't brave enough to end his marriage although my grandma made life pretty difficult to enjoy. Recently I've been thinking about what I want most currently and it's just human connection. I want to have friends and goof around. I want to go somewhere and be a part of something. I don't want to be dramatic but being isolated so much and having so little human interaction I sometimes start to question my sanity. I have all the morals of the world but living life? actually? I haven't done that in a while. It hurts me seeing people not fulfil their potential and shy off from saying what they mean because of social norms. Everyone is judging each other, can't I just accept that fact? I will be judged no matter what, why don't I just live then? I really want to live but god I'm afraid and it's been such a long time.

Wow, this is immediately my favorite album, i've replayed xmas kids and i can't handle change for a long time but i just found out there was an EP today. they've got a new project as well, but i'm still digesting this, all the songs are super relevant. outstanding musicianship and connecting to people through music, i think i want to try that sometime. you're all incredible (if this is a solo project YOU are incredible), love ajj as well. thanks, -jason.

[Verse 1] I know you may not be feeling the same way I am Sweetheart, you're mine, and now our life is all planned Nobody needs you the way you know I do Forget what they say, let's start our life anew [Verse 2] Oh darling I'm not so sure about our hearts aligning At 16 years old, could this just be bad timing? Puppies pining? [Chorus] Listen to me, sweetheart, you are nothing when we're apart I can promise you this: when we split the town, you won't be missed

a tad bit mad this album got popular on tiktok bc they only use specific songs like can't handle change or christmas kids for a random anime edit or a tie dye shirt :/ but it's whatever, you can't stop the canon event...I do really wish they payed attention to the whole band, and enjoy the songs for their meanings and beats! like duck or ape and/or chinese tattoo! and not just the two popular song from this band. thank you tiktok for making two songs popular and not the entire band.
