Hi Art! I am a Malaysian-American and have been travelling on and off especially for the past few years. Right now, I am back in California trying to finish up my study. By the way, as a fellow American, can I share some info with you? If you like to stay in Kuala Lumpur for a longer period, you can consider of changing your Visitor status to a Foreign Student status. As I know, private colleges are easier to apply. Since you are a US citizen, I think it is pretty easy. Well, if you decided to keep your Travel visa, you could go to Singapore or Thailand and stay there for one week. One week, not one or two days to keep yourself out of immigration hassle. During my trips, I travelled alone too. Lastly, thanks for sharing.

Hi Dianne! Thanks for taking the time to watch and leave a comment. I spent my childhood in California (although I have dual citizenship Brazil / USA) The information you shared is valuable to anyone reading the comments, so I appreciate that, however I will just be staying for 3 months total. Will soak up all that Malaysia has to offer in the meantime! Enjoy Cali! :-))

Looks great! And incredible price! I always wondered do those common areas have WiFi??
@GringoNation5 ай бұрын
Hey WITYS! Nice to hear from you! It's funny you ask that because the other day I went to the "yoga room" to do some KZbin yoga and figured I'd need to hotspot my phone. To my surprise, when I checked the networks there was one called YOGA ROOM and it was decent too. I would imagine that's not always the case but it was a pleasant surprise! Big luv to the family!

Hey great video, i'm going to Kuala Lumpur for 4 months and i was wondering what are the best websites for getting an apartment (mostly the ones that are safe) ?
@GringoNationАй бұрын
That's a good question. I found this on Airbnb. If I were you, I'd join Facebook Groups and ask around! Thanks for watching

Nice! Which area did you live in and how was the neighborhood? Was it vibrant? Did it have a market, food stalls etc.?
@GringoNation5 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching! It's a 10 min walk to the Chan Sow Lin subway stop, which means it's only 2 stops away from some of the busiest food streets in KL. I also managed to find some decent eateries in the area but no... I wouldn't call it "vibrant". There's a lot of construction in the area. But again, just a short metro ride or Grab to happening spots. Hope that helps!

Hi, what are the people like there ?
@GringoNation5 ай бұрын
Thanks for watching! People are very friendly in general. Of course Malaysia has a mix of cultures, so besides the Malaysians, there are also Indian and Chinese people and each culture is very different, including behavior. But it's a very friendly country in general!
