Public universities are not appreciated enough here in Mexico. There’s nothing like finishing school without owing a peso to anyone. And yeah, you can get small scholarships in case you need that support. To give back for public school you are obligated to do social service for a year and that’s a great learning experience too. I did my social service at an animal shelter which I will always remember fondly.

@palomavega64946 жыл бұрын
I studied communications, you can study law here but it’s a different system than the US so I’m not sure if you could practice there. However, Master’s degrees and Doctorates are available at public universities as well, although not entirely free. It depends on the school, the most expensive ones tend to be around 12 000 pesos per semester (600 dollars per semester). We also have private schools with excellent programs as well, and different types of scholarships.

I suggest you get your Mexa passport. It makes it easier to prove your citizenship and eligibility. Check the Consulado de México, in your state. Their site has lots of good information.

Yes, we are proud indeed. If you say CU everybody understand you 're meaning UNAM. I agree with Hilaria, la biblioteca central is great place to study, and chill out with friends. There is the cafetería with delicious comida corrida at cheaper cost that nowhere else. I'm glad you like my "alma mater" and yes, you could enroll to get a master or doctor degree. Did you visit the stadium?

When Miguel Alemán pushed for this project, the original plan was to have one of them in each state capital. Unfortunately, once he was out of office, the project was shut down and only CU was completed. Would have been some awesome thing...

How cool that you went to CU (ciudad universitaria). There is a special energy there with so many thousands of students. When I studied there we had a teacher that would make us go to sala nezahualcoyotl to concerts, he would say that veterinarians had to be more cultural. If you didn't attend concerts you could not be in his class. That was very cool. And of course the concerts were free.

Guys you must visit the sports area and other universities like IPN or UAM, them (with UNAM) are top 3 of our best universities. And have a lot of history too. And don’t forget, CU is the principal campus but there are some other campus and more than a half in CDMX. For example, Fes Acatlán already has the biggest languaje center in latin america (the 2nd in the world). And please go to a Concert in Sala Nezahualcóyotl, the place is perfect for listen a beautiful symphony ❤️

Well, this isn't the entirety of UNAM, this is just CU, UNAM has several other campuses around the city, the 9 ENP High Schools, the 4 CCH High Schools, Acatlan, Zaragoza and FAD, among others.

Kinetic Kennons … and several campuses and research facilities in many other states! You should really consider enrolling in graduate studies or other courses, how about that as an "insider" approach to know MX?

Also do not forget minimum wage in Mexico is the lowest in the whole American continent. $88 pesos/day roughly (U.S. $5/day), so those 20 pesos/taco mean you can only buy about 4,5/day. So everything is "cheap" when you are making $/€/£ back in your country and spending your money in pesos for "cheap" stuff.
