Gripping a Skateboard - Vol. 5

In this video we grip a Pinewski's shop deck with MOB Griptape. The customer wanted a lightning bolt look so we took and ripped the griptape in various spots to try and mimic the look they wanted.

Yeah changing grip can be tough...but really, this isn't hard at all! The tears have no rhyme or reason, and you just slap them down wherever!

I see a lot of tape like this and i feel like it just wouldn’t be practical for tricks or anything so many lips for shoes to get caught on but i haven’t skated in a few years so idk 🤷🏻‍♂️

​@@jamersk8he didn't scuff/sand the wood first. It won't necessarily come off, but for best adhesion, sand the surface, everyone should know that.

​@paultunstall7126 that's basic woodworking, scuff before priming, painting, gluing, anything that has to do with something needing to stick, especially if it has a slick finish. That's doesn't mean grip tape won't stick. Like the guy said, for best adhesion scuff it.

Setting up your board with little designs and cut outs is an absolute waste of time especially if you go through boards like toilet paper on Taco Tuesday.
