If you’re betting/calling proportionate to your equity after the flop, but you’re basing that on the chance you’ll make your hand on either the turn or the river, how do you handle the turn? Equities get cut in half and all the sudden you can only justify very small calls. It seems like this would significantly impact the actual chance of realizing your equity post-flop. How do you factor this in? Or do you bet on the flop based on your turn %?

Great question, this is why it's important to know your odds of hitting on each street (not just both of them) Your range will be structured based on the size of bets you face. Calling small bets with a wider range of hands, and continuing with a narrower range of hands. You're thinking about things the right way Noah! Hope you're out there gettin stackin!

Little tip on rounding your chance to win, just remember the outs. If there’s 2 open in the flop times your outs by 4 that’s your estimated percent chance of winning. If there’s 1 open in the flop times your outs by 2.

Example, there’s 9 outs on a flush. There’s 2 open on the flop. 9x4= 36

That 4-2 rule is pretty handy. I wish more instruction on poker math gave players simple estimate tips like that. I can't spend more than a few seconds on my turn deciding what to do. I can't pull out a calculator or work out with a pencil what all the probabilities are.

He's right, though my god it is hard to train yourself to fold a flush draw or open ended draw off a 1/2 pot size bet after the flop. I still usually call just see that turn if I get 2 to 1 as long as the guy has either me out chipped or is a person that can't get off his hand once he's made anything. Hoping those two factors make up for my donk flop call LOL

Usually it's worth calling a flop bet of even up to pot because of the implied odds and potential payoff on later 2 streets. Calling big bets on the turn however is a lot more questionable because you only have 1 more street to get paid on.

Easiest way to tighten up your game and win more money over the long haul is stop chasing flush and straight draws UNLESS you're getting fantastic implied odds. It can be profitable if in a game with multiple calling stations.

2x your number of outs on the turn or river for both streets do 4x your number of outs It's not exact, but usually it's close enough!

All this mathematical talk has me lost lol. Is this what other players are thinking in their minds while playing poker? All these percentages and win ratios along with everything else they’re observing? I just started playing online poker and little by little getting a bit better. People play loose as fuck online though lol. But trying to get better recognizing good preflop hands vs hands that should probably be an automatic fold in most cases. I enjoy these videos and the value you share. Even though I feel a bit lost with some terminology and all this math stuff.

The main thing is just having the math in the back of your mind. Front of your mind can be focused on picking up tells and reading your opponent. Hope that after having some time to go thru the videos & maybe some books as well that the terminology is starting to make more sense!

Most pokerplayers know this? I doubt it... Most poker players arent the ones making money doing it. Knowing these will ensure a 100% win ratio at microstakes assuming you wont get unlucky all the time. I knew the word expression "pot odds" but never thought how useful it can be before watching this vid..

Round off the numbers and remember little shortcuts. With enough practice, you'll automatically associate certain hands with rounded-off percents and don't need to calculate anything.
