You’re the man thank you! Fixed it and it’s working great now. There’s going to be some hungry mosquitoes on the trail 😂

We attempted the PCT last year. My husband carried the Leatherman squirt. It has pliers and it weighs less than 3 ounces. We have a tent body zipper that is having problems and I think we are going to see if his pliers and his Leatherman squirt are up to the task. I will let you know!

Did Zpacks ever respond? Thanks for the tip! Fortunately, you can still carry a Swiss Army knife with small mini pliers without a significant weight penalty. I hope Zpacks start using a stronger, sturdier zipper in the future.

They did end up responding the day after I fixed the zipper. I explained to them what was wrong with it, and how I had fixed it. They said they would share the information with the team in case anyone else had the same issue. In the past, I've always had great customer service from z-packs. It wasn't the case this time

But hey to be fair, this Altaplex had probably 1100 miles on it before The zipper didn't wanna zip. Hard miles. Zips fine again. 😁

@@GrizzleGear Good to know the fix, thanks for sharing. btw, miles don't matter much on the tent, it's nights used, setup taken down. ;-) but I"m sure that was a lot of nights used.

@@joeso8114 I look at things in terms of thru hikes because that's generally when I'm using my gear... I expect to get about 2-2800 miles out of a tent. 😁
