I refuse to believe they’re done. I never got to see them. I blew a chance to see them in Denver after Painted Ruins. I will never forgive myself 😔

Cut out is probably my favorite of the album and top 3 of all grizzly bear songs.
@danewiley42153 жыл бұрын
Actually I take that back cut out along with ready able and some others are just my favorite songs of all time. Grizzly bear is just the best band in the history of music 😤
@Ceereeal2 жыл бұрын
Speaking of, I feel like cut-out and gun-shy are pretty similar sounding, which is fitting cause they’re the two songs with dashed titles

Dan needs his own solo BAND, on the side again.. Like DoE I guess. Theres so many songs now, where Ed refuses to sing about anything but relationships, love songs, meanwhile, Dans delving deep into human suffering, his own souls mysteries and others, the melancholy of life. They will do this on the same songs, Ed's part usually, in my opinion, never really matches up with Daniel's lyrics. Its just not Daniel's subject matter, none of his songs are really love songs. Pretty sure I've found all of Rossens work. Love the songs, just wish they'd compromise once in a while, mainly Ed, and have a steady theme of the songs lyrics. It feels like Dan's song featuring Ed Droste sometimes. Like a rap feature lol Started realizing long ago. Dan is the main creative force of GB. He just never stops writing and creating. Well, he's appeared missing lately.. wish he would keep it alive, know they all have kids, but at least keep a Radiohead like method of pretty steady releases, in multiple ways outside of office albums They are very similar bands of quality imo.. and thats a tall order
@gavin23913 жыл бұрын
absolutley agree, and im shocked that theyve touched some else as much as they have me. i think ive learned that working in bands (groups in general) arent actually about collaborating between everyone but 1-2 people leading the charge like you said. so with that in mind, i dont think itd ever be possible to have them compromise. thats just how groups are, and if you try to “fix” it, you kill the vibe or whatever you wanna call it
@JorgeGonzalez-zq7bv3 жыл бұрын
To be fair, Ed has written some of the Best songs in GB
@makkietakkie3 жыл бұрын
I've been noticing the same thing. I was listening to Painted Ruins lately with my mom while going through all the lyrics and the contrast was very apparent, especially on Losing All Sense. I do think however that Ed's lyricism and songs about relationships and love are very potent and well written, I find them to be very meaningful and in a way I prefer them over Dan's.
@granap3 жыл бұрын
Supposedly, Ed has left the band to pursue a different career and Dan is working on a solo album, so it seems like things are pretty much going the way you want them to.
