@@BrianJohnstonTrombone that's terrible, Lennon himself said his voice and Paul's sucked but Ringo couldnt lead any better and George passed focused on the fast chords. He was known to repeat that he wished they had as lead singer, get a hold of it: Smokey Robinson for their kind of songs to be where they wished and needed to bring their music to the very tops, and that if Smokey agreed they would do just the backing vocals forever. Imagine that, "Smokey Robinson & the Beatles". NO BS, and Lennon would have agreed, same as Paul. Much wiser than adding Yoko to the line up...

This song is so damn good! No guitar, great understated drumming, singers' voices fit the smoothness of the piano right, interesting movement keeps you in. One of the best songs I've heard in a while. Now tied with Blue Ridge Mountains by Fleet Foxes in my book as the two best songs out right now. And these guys did it with a live performance!

There's a split moment at around the 2:00 mark where they are juuuuust about to start pulling the tempo, and correct themselves, as a band, in that single beat, and it's just fucking insaaaane! As a drummer, we can sometimes find our bodies naturally stop ourselves from rushing the beat, and it's just so damn pro to see the whole band do it! This is a really tricky tempo to sustain for a whole song too!

Howard Stern once pointed this out and he was 100% right. Whoever films these bands on late night or award shows needs to be a musician. They never capture specific moments when a musician performs. Example, during a guitar solo, rather than show the guitarist and his fingers, they go to the singer dancing. In this clip, the drummer is playing such a strange and unique beat…yet let’s focus on the fingers playing two notes on the keyboard. Haha
