We did Afghanistan in the early 70’s before the Russian invasion and just after Afghanistan become the “Islamic Republic of Afghanistan” The giant Buddha’s in the Bamian Valley we’re still intact. Most towns had few vehicles and some no electricity. Lots of horses and camels, the locals were carrying old Lee Enfield 303s, the AK47s before the Russians turned up. We had a similar experience sharing chai with some farmers who were threshing wheat. I passed around some tobacco as a trade. You don’t forget this sort of stuff. Love reliving this area watching your video. Keep up the good work guys.

How do I know if somebody is humble enough? Easy, usually he-she uses Croc's without being worried about fashion jajajaja. You are the only channel I don´t skip any second on.. not even with 25 min footage. It´s like receiving a hand-written letter on the mail... an unexpected smile. You bring me back to my childhood, when I sat on the T.V waiting for "Blue Planet", or any National Geographic magazine that I used to read. Epic. Greetings from the other side.

CRAZY!! That's what you people who do these types of trips are! Have you ever given a thought to what you would do in case of an emergency and you're in the middle of nowhere?! Car trouble, illness, accident??! But THANK YOU SO MUCH for doing it, otherwise us sitting behind our laptop screens would never have known about these places. I stumbled upon your video by accident and now I'm going to start watching from the beginning. I love how it's not all about yourselves, but mostly about the places you go through, unlike the majority of the youtubers. Hats off to you guys.

I started reading this comment thinking it was really negative but I kept reading and I was very pleasantly surprised 😊 In all seriousness regarding what you say at the beginning. We do a lot of research before every trip and we also carry with us a Garmin InReach GPS responder in case of problems or emergency. This device allows 2 way messaging via satellite and also emergency rescue services in almost all countries.

Wow, great video and great landscape. Remembers me of our first river crossings on Iceland. After engaging 4x4 on our Unimog and crossing a few smaller rivers we thought: coool, nobody will be able to follow us without 4wd. Then a young girl, mobile phone in one hand, waving to us, honking happily to us, drove by in her Opel Corsa smashing the little car trough the water....
