Very strong story for a western. And Mitchum was already a great actor with an amazing screen presence in 1947

I watched this for Robert Mitchum, whom I adored as a teen. SUCH A HUNK!! I NEVER would have recognized Dean Jagger w/out the cast credits at the end!! Neither his looks nor distinctive voice were developed at the time this was shot!!

This film doesn't sound a typical western movie because of the title "Pursued" but anyway I decided to play to find out the story. Then the name of the cast came out and saw Robert Mitchum, I haven't watch any of his western movies so I continued watching. At the beginning there's more of drama and less action, I usually get bored already. I still kept going because I was intrigue to find out what's behind Jeb's nightmare and what will be the ending of the movie which turn out to be a better and happy ending. Thank you I enjoyed the movie.

Robert Mitchum, Dean Yeager, Alan Hale! Today's life drama in a '60's film. More the world changes the more it stays the same. Mother's protecting sons lying about the truth in the past and not admitting the sins of their children causing the innocent to pay the cost. Amazing plot twists.

I watched it because I heard this was the last movie Jim Morrison saw in Paris a day or two before his death. It doesn't seem to have weight on what happened though it is not a cheering movie.

Robert Mitchumbest actor of all time. Can adapt to any role. John Wayne was only a b actor. Could not act at all only his swagger.
@abbynormal70368 ай бұрын
John Wayne was a legend in his own right, he could act and showed it several times, but mostly got tight cast because he was so good at that "swagger"... not taking anything away from Robert, but highly disagree with your blanket statement. The Quiet Man showed great range on John's behalf IMHO. It wasn't swagger, but humor mixed with swagger that pulled that role to historic love from fans across the globe. Humor that could only be attributed to character of John in real life.
