The cinematography on this video was stunning. What a 2wheel paradise to have played on those roads. You’re truly a master with shot selection and camera placement, and an absolute talent with those editing skills. Well done, mate! Hope all well, if you have time, maybe throw an update on your IG story with the surgery recovery. Have a fantastic weekend.

I totally agree, that mountain road is one of the best that I have rode. It cost 24 euros in July 2017 when I did it on my way to Croatia from England on my MT07. It is well worth the cost but I did it a little slower to enjoy the views. You were obviously enjoying the ride so thanks for sharing it with us. Ride safe.

It has probably already been said earlier but with all those comments I am not going to check. The idea of the circles on the hairpin bends increasing in size until you reach the apex, is brilliant. Add to that the fact that riding through them ensures you don't hang your skull in the opposite lane adds to the safety factor hugely. Something that should be used more broadly.
@AndyManCam
@AndyManCam 2 жыл бұрын
I totally agree! Not only is it safer, but it makes the riding so much more enjoyable! Passes like the Stelvio are undeniably spectacular, but there are no end of people who manage to ditch their bikes on those impossibly tight zig-zags!

What an epic road, your doing a great job on filming all of this too!! I love your riding too, I see so many people struglle with hairpins and other corners on those passes that my heart almost stops beating. You just developed a technique used by Moto GP racers out of intuition, and feel love it. You must, if your in to it, try trail braking in combination with the rear brake. Once I understand the physics my riding when up by 50% lol. Keep making this vids, they are very enjoyable to watch!! Safe travels!!

All booked for my tour now, will be storming (artistic license!) the Großglockner early July on my way to Slovinia, not sure what on yet but it (probably) won't have 140+ HP! Will be a shortish day so might follow your example and have a couple of goes... Hopefully won't have a puncture like I did the last time I rode it. Hope you're on the way to recovery.

Love the scenery side shots using the 360. Not using the rear brake and trail braking the front brake is all the rage these days, which I suppose is fine if you're on a race track but no good on roads. Trust your ear is on the mend. 👍. Catch phrase from the TV character Uncle Staveley's in the sitcom I Didn't Know You Cared springs to mind. 🤭😉

I do the rear brake trick too, it's sort of like trail braking with the rear. Applying the rear brake does push the front tyre down a little improving front end grip I believe
@AndyManCam
@AndyManCam 2 жыл бұрын
Absolutely. A bit of front compression is vital for that all important grip!

It’s almost exactly 1000 miles from my front door in England to that part of Austria. It’s going to take some serious planning to get there and back. But now I’ve seen it in this video, I must do it. Amazing footage sir 😎👍🏻

You can make it easier by riding to germany and taking the train into austria which saves a lot of time but also a lot of amzing roads. Its a tough choice but both places are amazing to be

I agree with all comments about the train. It’s brilliant, but it’s not cheap. Although for me, to get to the alps comfortably would mean at least 2 days and 3 nights. So after fuel, food and hotels, the price isn’t so bad. Although the roads in Germany are amazing, so if you’ve got time, that’s also worth it!
