Cooking beats starvation. All this smaller portions thing is definitely real. No more Texas size anything. All Eyes on Rafah. 🙏🏾

Thank you for talking about this. I feel like Muslims don't talk much about the way our economic system is designed and how capitalism works. This really effects the common man regardless of their religion. This is a human rights issue we should be talking about this more and looking for solutions

Even if I buy the cheap groceries sometimes the food just tastes bad and it makes it hard to eat

The economic model is driving food prices to disproportionately make nutrient dense food far more expensive than food that is hyperpalatable food, but ultimately destructive to our health. This incentivizing of the purchasing of foods that are devoid of nutrition, but that are calorically dense, further exacerbates our already problematic public health. So the average person gets gouged at the grocery store and then by or medical system that treats our inevitable decline in health, which was driven by financial choices made at that grocery store or restaurant. One could be forgiven for engaging in conspiratorial thinking, when assuming that the entire ordeal is being orchestrated by a cabal that seeks to capitalize off the populace's misery.

The secret to survive when going to buy groceries in this time, is to always buy seasonal and local produce

Stop shopping at grocery stores and support local farmers and local businesses. They won’t lower their prices if we keep buying from them. Maybe join a community garden? We got most of our produce this year from growing in our community garden. And sometimes you can just go without. Especially if it’s something not necessary. We don’t buy snacks and drinks or anything like that. Just meat eggs dairy vegetables and fruit. Mostly from local farmers or a CSA or something like that.
