Not all stores or locations have Indian ingredients. To fit in with Canadians, make an attempt to try local foods, shop local (not just big box stores like Walmart) and for sure bring your own recyclable bags (many provinces have banned single use plastics).

No, We have food banks if you really feel the necessity to steal.
@wordsleuth9922 жыл бұрын
There are staff overseeing purchases and the platform can tell when you have moved something from one side to the other without being scanned. Even if you put something not scanned like sunglasses or wallet into the bag - it will pick up on that. Generally speaking the system works pretty well.
@Reon892 жыл бұрын
You can easily steal if you want to. No one is checking. No one cares. Grocery is super cheap and only super cheap people steal. People are so good that they pay always and its that trust which made this system. Also even if someone steals the cost of the item stolen would be very low when you compare to the salary you have to give to the employee to scan the food and pack it for you. So its cheaper for brands to let people steal and not pay salary to people for doing such a dumb job. Also if a person is doing the scanning job then a valuable worker is lost for the country who could have been more productive doing something better for the country. In India most of the people are useless so we have such useless jobs.😅 I used to work in a supermarket 7 8 years back and we were told not to chase anyone who tries to steal. we just make a note of what was stolen and nothing else. Gov is gibing people free money if you lose job. So why would someone steal? Its mostly immigrants who steal or the drug addicts.

Yes, I found it very difficult to see what the items were that you were buying when you picked up bags I could not tell what the item was. It would help if you could show the bag clearly in front of the camera. It would be helpful if you had English subtitles as well. Maybe show all products at the end at home unpacked so we could get an idea of what you got all together. Your videos are excellent for newcomers or those planning a move to Canada to understand the basic costs of living. Thank you for helping to inform others. it will be cheaper to buy form Freshco and /or Oceans. I always go thru the fliers that come every week. Walmart and freshco give "Price match" so it gets even cheaper to buy stuff. every 2-3 months certain things go way more cheaper e.g Philadelphia cream cheese goes for just a dollar a tub, thats when you buy more quantity and freeze it. Basmati rice which is usually 12 CAD for a bag sells for 7 or 8 dollars once or twice in an year , thats when I load up about 20 kgs. Olive oil which usually sells for CAD 6 or 7 goes down to just 3 cad. thats when i load up about 6-7 bottles. always look out for deals, coupons and flier price matches. I spend just around (average) CAD 300 a month for the 2 of us for EVERYTHING. grains, oils, dairy, produce fruits, snacks ect everything. Bread you will get the best varieties in Metro. and after 8 pm they sell for discounted prices. by the way @ 9:27 your total bill shows CAD 148.51 !!
