@@divahc1 as a personal shopper I can confirm if you get the cold stuff first (with a big list like theirs) it will not be as cold or frozen by the time of checkout or arriving home. That being said, the food is all still probably fine to eat. Just melted or defrosted. Cold first is okay for yourself but when shopping for other people it’s always cold last. It really does make a difference

Love a grocery haul as it’s so different from what we get here in the UK. Write a list next time, it’ll help.. Also, meal plan. Not like a set daily plan, but a list so you know what meals you CAN make, that way if you’re tired you don’t have to think/order in, just pick something from the list, you know you have the stuff in, and make it :)

Girl I'm 27 and I still forget things at the store often lol. Definitely make a list. Also if you download the walmart app..put your store location in ...you can search an item you're looking for and it will tell you exactly what isle the item is in. LOVE that so I'm not walking around the store looking lost 😅 soo excited for your new chapter in life!💫

Also freezer bags, separate your meat for single or duo meals so you know how much is on each bag and date the bag. That way you save some time and you don't have to worry about freezer burn
@dawnbailey44552 жыл бұрын
It's a great idea to separate your meat into individual serving sizes before you freeze it. Ground meats take up much less room, and defrost quicker, if you flatten it out before freezing. You did great for your firstshopping trip.

Ariana, you did good with your shopping spree. My mom would start at one end of the store, go down each isle, and that's how i shopped. I can't walk atound the stores now, so i online shop, at Walmart and Krogers. My problem is, I online shop, when I'm hungry. Oh wow Ariana. I just bought the small cucumbers in the bag, with the mindset of putting vinegar and seasoning salt. I use to do this as a young child, in the 70's/80's. I use to peel the cucumbers, slice them, put them in a baggie, put vinegar, and seasoning salt, let them marinate over night in the fridge. They were so good. We also use to put hot sauce in our cheeto bags, back then too. Long before Flamin Hot Cheetos came out. We didn't know, that 11 years later, someone would actually patten it.

To keep bagels etc fresh I freeze what I don’t plan to eat over a couple days then just pull them out the night before to defrost when I know when I will eat them. Same with bread. Also you might need ziplock bags, glad wrap, aluminium foil and baking paper. They are pantry basics too. 😃

Your grocery bill will probably be cheaper going forward because you got a bunch of spices and stuff that you probably wouldn't typically purchase each grocery haul. I know I thought that my first couple grocery hauls were crazy expensive but once I purchased all those "staple" grocery items my bill was much cheaper.

some suggestions: Meal plan because some items can be used in more than one recipe, buy aluminum foil and break down your meats into meal sizes and freeze each portion- write the date and label, food storage containers for your cereals and pasta, etc... and your 1st haul will be expensive because of your stock or basics like condiments and spices you will not buy each trip. Good Luck adulting, You Got This!

Tortia’s and bagels freeze well because your on your own you can just get a couple at a time and defrost it saves them going off. Never go shopping hungry lol you always buy more than you need. Leave the snack and lollie isle till last so you dont over do the cravings 😂 and as others have suggested think ahead on what you’d like to cook so you know what ingredients you’ll need. Oh and your meat if you want to you can separate into serves in freezer bags and then freeze so one packet will last you several meals :-)

Me and Hannah was kinda correct (Hannah and me), a good way to remember which way to say it is to take the name of the other person out of the sentence "I'm cooking dinner for me".. Wouldn't say I'm cooking dinner for I, a lot of people like to use the "I" all the time because it sounds fancy but not always correct.. Another easy way to remember which to use is if it's at the beginning of the sentence it's usually "I" and at the end of the sentence "me"..
@FuzzyB922 жыл бұрын
You should get pasta and rice bags in a big size rather than the small ones as they last for a while in the cupboard and probably cheaper same with the cooking oil.
