We have that problem now in the States. Price going up, wages staying the same. Many people are suffering right now. Inflation sucks.

In the USA, the same cost of groceries will get you around 2 days of food for one person for a similar diet.

Sadly, the price of everything is going up everywhere. And for the most part, salaries are not going up either! Global inflation is definitely occurring at this point in time.

In America it costs me about $300 per week for just the basic items for a family of 4 and usually by Friday we are out of everything, and scraping by until Saturday. It’s extremely expensive. Then if I want to buy fresh fruit and vegetables that is a special trip I have to make to the farmers market because most of the supermarket stuff is genetically modified and aren’t even natural anymore😢

Here we have fruits in abundance. I liked the tomato in plastic bags, I've never seen it. I liked that you weighed your food yourself and put the price label yourself... i love yogurt section too... i love eat granola with yogurte 🤭😋actually some products the prices are different from here. But there are no big differences. it all depends on the season 🥲😩 and chipsss... best moment in the supermarket 😝 chipsss, ohh yeahh 🤣

Seems quite similar to french supermarket. Maybe fish and seafood are cheaper there. Here also prices go up fast and salaries go up so slow, so basically many poelple just buy less or less quantity or less quality or change some things, like less beaf and more chicken or porc (cheaper than beef meat here)

I remember being in Volgograd during the summer. The fruit and veges available were great and there was always good cheese and bread and lots of people were selling kvas. People seemed fairly happy then. The walks along the Volga were always popular with the locals at nightfall. That was in 2012. It is sad to see what has happened in 2022.

I presently don't have transportation to more cost effective places like wallFart & Dollar Tree, so in walking distance here in southern Texas there's pretty much only Dollar General... which is only slightly better than a gas station for prices on most things. Neat you have avocados over there, those have the most biotin (for plant sources, though it's liver otherwise, but fruit doesn't have cholesterol). Guacamole is one of the most awesome inventions ever made, so far as mushed plants with spices go. Mashed potatoes are also good, with salt & butter. I think I'm probably going to need to try and grow potatoes so I don't go hungry, hopefully they won't get mowed over.

The prices going up is not only in Russia. But generally speaking compared to the Netherlands, those prices are relatively cheap, sometimes amazingly so. What puzzles me whenever you go to the supermarket is that despite the boycott, you still get so many of the Western brands like Danone, Starbucks, Hengstenberg, Zott, Nestlé or Kellogg's... I don't know why it still surprises me that they put profit before ethics...😕

Well clearly when measured against the average worker-salary in Russia, those prices are terrible, especially when considering how much rent (for example) costs in Moscow. Happy to see You prefer plant milks. 👍 Plant milks are always so unjustifyably expensive when compared to cow-milk, Hopefully it will change, as more and more people now demand to fix this situation. As, in fact, it should cost less, as the costs of producing plant milks are significantly lower (not to mention far more moral... and significantly healthier). That milk-and-Chocolate dessert is not healthy. 😎 I feel the same abour beers: if at all, then only the fruity ones - and preferrably the stronger ones, too, as they are not as bitter...

That's craziness! Our Salmon roe caviar (lumpfish caviar) is £4.95 a small pot. SMIRNOFF red label is £18 to £25 per litre (depending upon if on offer)! Yours is £4 approximately. Wtf??😮 Love your videos Nesty ❤❤❤❤

Put bluntly, the difference in prices between Russia and New Zealand is appalling. Even in the things that New Zealand produces a lot of domestically, the prices in Russia range from 1/10 (onions) to 1/3 (milk). That's the disadvantage of being in a country that tries to export all its best products, leaving the dregs for the local population, who still have to pay prices based on the international market prices

I am really surprised by how expensive food is in Russia. It looks on average to be about 1/3 to 1/2 the price of food in California, but the salaries here are completely different. (I guess part of the reason is that in US housing is much more expensive, but I am still surprised that food is only twice cheaper than here.)

Very similar to a U.S. supermarket. Except all the cart wheels rotate, so it's easy to spin the cart completely around. In America, the carts are larger and only the front wheels rotate. 😅 Go to the pasta sauce aisle and look for the 'соус аррабьята'. I forget the name brand. But it is delicious on everything. It is spicy. 🤪 It was one of my favorites. The stuffed Spanish olives in the can were also a favorite. Stuffed with shrimp, cheese and something else, I forget. I suspect they are no longer available due to EU sanctions. The last time I was there was Oct. 2021, before the SMO.

Thanks Nesty, I live in a North Australian city where many of our products are transported over great distances as I imagine is the same in Russia, consequently we are always complaining about food prices comparable to the bigger cities. it was a little difficult to make an instant $US and $AU currency comparison in my mind but in general your costs seem not massively different to mine. Saying that though I have to consider my shop as a percentage of income. In the past I have done volunteer work Russia and discovered teachers in Russian schools are paid less than our aged pensioners are entitled to so complain we may but we can still eat what we want.
